we can have bases in bays with the landing strip respawn point on water....that would be cool if you pick a base to respawn in water you get a floatplane revive in the bay...way cool...imagine the possibilities

.... strafing planes floating in water etc.... man along with carriers these floatplanes can change the whole feel of the game if you think about it.

much more entertaining than B-29s in my book

I've got the perfect recipe for you, Red. I call it "Seaplane Surprise"

    --------------------------------------

12 X Japanese Seaplanes (any type)
1 X Chitose CVS (or equivilant)
    1 X Late Model F4U Corsair
    1 X 500 lb semi-armor piercing bomb
    8 X 5" rockets
6 X .50 cal MG with full ammo

    --------------------------------------

Place CVS and seaplanes in a large pot of water (would Truk Lagoon suffice?) Using the Corsair, baste CVS with 500-pounder and rockets. Liberally season seaplanes with .50 cals. Repeat as necessary.

    --------------------------------------

Would've used a Kingfigher, but I imagine the Corsair would be far more effective at attaining desired fun-factor

no doubt corsair will be most fun plane in game. floatplanes will be fun addition for atmosphere.

I agree. The more, the merrier.

BTW - I honestly thought you'd get more of a kick outta the 'recipe', with all the talk of strafing that you listed in the initial post, that is.
