So all those expecting a realistic shooter will be disappointed?

I see in this forum all topics that are poisitive.
I guess there is a kind of moderation towards a certain direction.
I haven't seen a topic talking about realism and tactical shooting and a serious hit\damage system mechanic of the game on this Ubisoft forum.

Besides this I would like to know from Producers, from Fans from everybody what do you think about this.
I am extremely passionated from the first day about this movie ... ehm sorry this game.
I never forgot it from when it played. I have not great expectation. I just new that it can revolutionize the World of entertainment if it is well done, balanced and is enough hardcore and punishing.
And instead I am reading some people supporting it will be a RPG deep game where "you shoot" but that's all about shooting. Nothing else will be about shooting.

I do not want to talk about this too long I want to hear people opinions here:

    I am talking about
Sponge HUDS and too many info (which are amazing of course but too much)
    Assisted aim
    1+ magazine to kill !!
2 sticky nades not enough to kill an enemy
    SPAM Spawning logic
oh this is bad ... no blue on blue
healing is more RESUSCITATION it's less medicing wounds.

I am not against the game. the game is amazing but if you remove stealth if you remove all these things or put others and you make of this a Level based game and not a skill and cooperation based game ... then you destroy the people not just expectation but interest in buying this title.

Probably now I understand why there is this new title launched.
For commercial reasons RPG is also easier to do and instead a good AAA skill based game is much more difficult. So wildlands is oming out to support the fact that this game will be just a RPG game for a niche of the gaming community.

I am not saying this is bad, I want to help and try the game beta but I think not more then that if this is what you are bringin us. It will be amazing but humans with shields and getting 2000 damage before getting not killed but .. in critical status ... well this is a Diablo, Dungeon and Dragons game it's not anymore what we wanted.

    Missed opportunity.

The Division has always been advertised from the start as an open-world online shooter RPG hybrid. People whose expectations were an open world Ghost Recon title rather than a Borderlands style game are bound to be disappointed. That is what Ghost Recon Wildlands is. This is not Ghost Recon. It is an RPG set in a Clancy universe.

With that being said, It absolutely does have a team work element to it, if you choose to embrace it. You can play as either a lone wolf or a team oriented player. The game will be alot harder for your if you choose not to cooperate with people as essentially targets will be twice, maybe three times more difficult to kill by yourself rather than using coordinated attacks and your skills to your advantage. This is where the concept of 'bullet sponge' comes from. If youre not tagging and teaming up on enemies, or using your skills to your advantage then of course it will seem like it takes way too long to kill an enemy. The game is meant to be played cooperatively, but gives you the option to play solo in an online environment.

As for the healing, there is both healing and resuscitation. If you get in a downed state you have to be helped back up, but you also have medical kits and the First Aid skill to apply to yourself or your team mates. Your health is separated into 5 bars. You will only regenerate to the previous damaged bar. If you are hit for 77% of your total life, you will only naturally regenerate to 80% until you use a medical kit.

You bring up a good point by comparing the game to Diablo. I never looked at it that way, but I embrace the comparison because Diablo is such a good series and loot-oriented title. Thats what this is as well, just with guns instead of swords, in the most basic terms.

    Thanks man!

Thanks for answering patiently to my harsh questions and yes i Think is better to hijack the people honestly to the other directions then instead saying this game can be interesting for you because no if it is like I heard and actually like you write is going to be well it's not interesting at all.
You also explained the term bullet sponge and its origin and for this too I thank you.

I think that the idea of this game has been totally betrayed.

I am sorry for the whole community of shooters I am sure it will be fun for the RPG players who like modern settings but won't be interesting for people like me and believe me there are many like me.

No game can appeal to everyone, and to each their own. The game you seem to want is probably more like Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Meanwhile I am excited and looking forward to The Division along with other people in my Quantum Dawn Gaming community. However I not going to go in with rose-tinted glasses. We have to be realistic on the scope of the game and I trust the devs know what they are doing. There is a reason why everything is a "bullet-sponge," that they took out stealth, and you can heal people from dead. They have talked and debated much longer than any of use "armchair devs." I do share many of your grievances but looking for validation in others I do not.

From what I understand, the main gripe you have with the game currently is the time and damage it takes to down enemies, right?
Please understand that balancing is still ongoing and will continue to be developed with all the feedback from the beta's etc...

A lot of the key issues the community is bringing up right now, such as stealth and the likes are still being discussed internally so we'll see. The Beta will definitely play a large part in this

But yes, the game will be an RPG, not a shooter first, however everything is still up to balancing

The Division is foremost an MMO at its core. Even games such as World of Warcraft that are 10 years old since vanilla state are still receiving updates, patches, and the like. Im sure this will absolutely be the case with The Division as well. It is common nature for players to find the quickest, easiest way to accomplish tasks. Either by exploits or glitches. Its our job as community members to find them, report them, and get them fixed so everyone has an equal opportunity to enjoy and play the game.

Like Natchai said, balancing will be a huge part of the beta programs in December and early 2016 as well as network and infrastructure tests in preparation for launch week. We still have many months ahead of us. Things can change and they will based on constructive criticism. We just have to keep a level head about it and keep it constructive rather than flaming as we've all seen in previous threads.

As someone who has been following The Division since the beginning, I am honestly fine with the RPG nature of the game, including the time to kill, healing, etc. I expected it to be such, and I find it incredibly amusing that people are surprised that it's not a tactical shooter. In many ways I suspect this is Ubi using the Tom Clancy brand to enter the MMO-type of arena, and try and get some of the market share that Destiny has, as well as the likes of Mass Effect (their multiplayer is very nicely done). I've played a fair few MP shooters and MMORPGs, and I have wondered why no one else has done a modern day RPG (apart from The Secret World).

Either way, it is certainly more refreshing than the usual tired shooters that are rife in the market at the moment, and I applaud them for this move. Even if the game turns out to be a bit of a failure, it's nice to see someone trying to be different, and not pedal the same old rubbish! (Yes, this does mean I'll be getting the Sleeper Edition!)

However, I'll also be watching GR: Wildlands to see if it develops in such a way that it will satisfy my tactical shooter urges! From what Rocky, Blue et al have said so far, it seems to be heading that way!

Since day 1 and in pretty much every interview they have said "At it's core it's an RPG"

My main concern is with the removal of stealth kills and no crouch that every encounter will turn into a Whack-a-mole shooting gallery situation.
When the stealth kills and sneaking where first shown i thought there would be some night time sneaking into enemy camps to get to an objective, even if it was stealth in and shoot your way out.
It just would just add a bit of variety and mix it up a bit, especially in raids where team work and some stealth could make for more interesting encounters. Stealth kills in tandem with team mates etc.

At least it's still on the table and the team are discussing it.

Well i think not having crouch isnt going to be a game killer unless in cover but unless i missed something you should be able to lay down maybe in some situations where your hanging back and providing support cover fire/sniping. Now we all know in wow they had the class rogue who could stealth just not get 1 shot kills, now you could introduce the device cloak and allow someone to sneak behind to get into a better support position to set up. This would allow us to have a stealth ability to try and sneak around same level and lower level mobs with legendary upgrades to the device to increase your stealth chances on higher level mobs. This could be the middle ground where stealth could work part of the way without introducing stealth kills like we see in shooters with this being an rpg based game, thoughts?

Well actually we saw the skill "Optical Cloak" in the behind closed doors demo. So far we have no confirmation that the skill is in the final game, but it was implemented at one point.

And also to the whole realistic shooter discussion - if The Division would be another generic tactical shooter, i would not be interested in the game. I'm interested in the game because it IS and RPG because it IS co-op and because of the scenario. So it is a good thing they take that road.
