There are so many first person shooters which are popular and fair play go play those games if you want, I have no interest in joining ya and I do not jump on those forums making my third person suggestions at all. It would be a waste of time.
GRWL looks like it is trying to make everyone happy but the only people who are loosing out are those that prefer third person view.
Allot of people are returning to GR or coming into this game fresh having spent god knows how long playing other games bringing ideas to the table that imo could drag it away from what makes it my favourite third person shooter.
Wheres the love for the Ubisoft/GR supporters that haven't gone anywhere because they liked GRFS as it was.
I really don't want a hybrid where the character is only in third person while out of combat and/or moving. Please don't make it forced aim down sights aiming/firing... we want hip fire.
GRFS control setup in open world with next gen and updated character movement and style... that is the third person game we all deserve.
First person gamer's, stick with what you were playing and your new upcoming adventures... leave our third person titles out of it.
Hmmm.. so you've just carpet bombet multiple threads with YOUR opinion about tpv. But your saying fans of fpv should go elswhere with their opinions..!?
Have you played any other GR games than GRFS?
It all started with FPV!
And in my opinion TPV has no place in a Sim shooter.. in real life war looking around cornes can cost you your life.. blah blah
Ubisoft has changed this game so much since the beginning.. so of'course there will be a lot of players coming through, with a lot of different opinions. They can take it.. Can you?
Well if you ask me the hybrid of third person view/running and first person ADS is whats going to make this title 100% better then GRFS as that was not a shining moment in my book of GR games. This isn't about me being a FPS guy as after playing GRP i found i loved the way they did that game and was a perfect balance of the two views. I think also you want to understand the biggest fundamental part of this game having ADS isn't going to change and isn't going to be tossed out. This is for all intense and purposes going to be a TPS/FPS hybrid and they would sooner can the project before changing the whole scope of it from its very core.Im sorry its nothing against the team behind GRFS but that game was a mess and a train wreck and lets hope there not going down that road again.
Well I wasn't trying to upset anyone and what I wrote was purely my opinion and what I would like from GRWL.Originally Posted by he1nz Go to original post
I love third person games and tbh we don't have many shooters that fill my criteria for a good TPS.
I'm 35 and I've been playing games since I was very young. FPS have a massive selection and yes ok GR started out FPV but tbh most games did back then.
As time goes by and games have developed providing a wide variety however like I said GRWL will become the newest edition and I really hope they don't drop the fire from hip zoom over should for the forced ADS in this case. In GRFS left trigger for hip fire and right analog went into ADS was best of both worlds.
My original post stated that I've been reading other peoples ideas and suggestions and felt that my favourite TPV game might suffer from it. Just my own opinion.
I didn't say take your opinions elsewhere. I've started a thread to discuss lol.
The final statement made in my original post did suggest my preference of FPV fan's leaving this game alone with all the FPV rubbish however I made no demands.
Should I have added some emoticons or something maybe some pictures or posted a pop up book?
Would that have made you feel more/less offended?
Why are you trying to make a meal out of imo an honest post for discussion?
I understand your opinions about TPV in sim shooters and irl yes looking around a corner is dangerous however we are talking computer games and it is cool to see your character performing all actions and personally I feel less immersion during FPV than TPV. On pc as example moving the same hand to look around and same hand to point n shoot. In TPV you just look somewhere else just like irl. Climbing a ladder in FPV it's just so annoying and again I loose immersion.
There you see we want different things however games should provide the player with more options. Lets use GTA V as an example for a sec. The introduction of FPV and the ways you can customise it for the type of action you are taking. Driving, shooting, movement and so on.Originally Posted by Lokiey1973 Go to original post
Instead of removing something completely I think its much better to provide the player/character choice and this would keep everyone happy.
I am not offended at all! I was just wondering.. and asked a few questions.
You say you read through the forums, then start a thread titled Stop trying to sabotage third person gaming, and..
It just made me curious really..Originally Posted by Milli0nkniv3s Go to original post
tahts how it was in GR2 - you could do 3rd per son or 1st person or the host could force oneOriginally Posted by Milli0nkniv3s Go to original post
Well here's the point, if they allow lets just say hard scoping in third person for those who want it and hard scope ADS for others it still creates a clear disadvantage and imbalance in the game where multiplayer is concerned. The fact is when it comes to scoping, hard scoping it has to be either TPS completely or ADS with third person non scoped but you cant have both in the game as it just wouldn't work. Now i know the division is completely TPS through and through and i dont mind that and almost prefer it being that its a RPG based shooter and not a realistic tactical shooter and works for that type of game. The fact is before GRP introducing this hybrid TPS/FPS shooter i would have said it would never work and hated the idea but honestly it worked really well and was very natural and have come to love that style of shooter.Originally Posted by Milli0nkniv3s Go to original post
I think once we know more and we all finally get a chance to play it you will realize how well it works but you gotta understand adding ADS option to a complete TPS for those who want or choose to use it doesn't work. The fact is hard scoping in TPV creates a real advantage if your being flanked because you whip around and can fire at your most accurate chance instead of alot more random spread from traditional hip firing. I get you liked GRFS and are not a FPS fan honestly but despite not being able to confirm for sure as it has not been stated i don't see the developers giving the option to hard scope from the hip and not use ADS at all as a choice. The fact is no developer can create the game everyone wants because if they gave everyone options from every game they loved to play how they want to it wouldn't work. The game has to be what it is and what the developers envision and with that some players loose or gain things they like but its always going to be give and take and never just what you want. This is a hybrid TPS/FPS and that isnt going to change and i dont need a developer to confirm that, what it boils down too is if its going to be a deal breaker for you as a player not having GRFS 2 instead of having GR:WL the new hybrid shooter because ADS isnt going anywhere and hard scoping hip firing is out of the question in my book for any game with ADS.
I guess I'm not following what you mean by hard scoping. In GRFS (which is my preferred aiming scheme) you could zoom in and fire over the shoulder or ADS. The difference between the two was accuracy. Sure you could zoom into your target faster with the zoom in hip fire, but you sacrificed accuracy for that speed. Obviously ADS was slower but you gained accuracy and clearer view of targets at distance. There are tradeoffs for both types and that is what made GRFS's aiming system work. Knowing which type of aiming to use for a given situation is what made it a challenge, and therefore fun.Originally Posted by Lokiey1973 Go to original post
