my friend has a deluxe edition version of the game which he already played quite a lot. today the game suddenly says its only the demo version and all his progress seems to be gone. he has the option to unlock the full game. any ideas?

he tried to restart the game a few times

if he deletes the game and re-installs it, will his progress be gone or is it saved separately??
