Sorry, they were just sending out spam. I went and deleted it.

    Anyway, this can be caused by a variety of issues! Here's some possible things you can try;

    1) Make sure your video card drivers are up to date. Since you have an AMD card, please check to make sure your drivers are within 4 months.

    2) You can clear your temporary files.

    3) Try disabling your background applications. If you have no issues with background applications disabled, the issue might be caused by one of them.

    4) Make sure you are up to date with your windows updates and Direct X installations, as our games need those to run.

If you still have issues after doing all of these, I suggest opening up a ticket with Ubisoft Support and include your dxdiag/msinfo files. This guide is helpful for giving our tech staff a good place to start helping you.

I got it fixed for me!

Hi, if you still haven't fixed the problem try unplugging all external monitors if you have any.
In my case just disabling them in the windows settings panel was enough.
The game only refused to start while I had my 2nd monitor mirrored to my tv, if they are set to expand desktop it works.
I also made a little video for that where you can see which settings im talking about
(the interface should be the same for windows 7/8/8.1 but my pc is set to german so you of course will have to look for the corresponding setting in your language)

I really hope I could help you!

    Same Problem since Driver update

    Hi,

your fix is for primal. This thread is for FC4

anyway... i have the same problem since the release of NVIDIA driver 391.xx. Also 392 doesn't fix this. I also had massive issues with graphics before at AC Rogue. The only solution was a driver downgrade. I have a GTX 770 4GB and my brother has a GTX 465. On my system i have a lot of trouble in some Ubi Games and at my brother all is working fine. But i'm, or we are, not alone with this problem. Driver downgrade couldn't really be the solution. So I would really like Ubisoft or nvidia or even in cooperation to fix this. In my opinion "older" games have still fans and need to be supported when new drivers for new games are released.

    regards,

    Sun

    edit:

found a solution: in the tec forums is the downgrade also the solution. But the reason for the crash is shadow play. Just turn it off for playing and everything is fine. Still not a real solution but a very good workaround without older drivers.
