is this game not dead yet!

How many people still avtively play on a daily or near daily basis. People playing UGC seems to be at an all time low.

Funktastic cries out and gets track recommended. I have 22 track with 90% likes on average some higher but never been picked even once.

Sure i do not follow the redlynx formula because all those released under fusion community look the same. I guess better stop uploading since the only appreciating i get is messages from people saying "great track m8" or That track was awesome".

But noone at redlynx seems to even look past their formula. So creativity is a bad thing i assume, you have to color between the lines to get attention.

i would be happy with some acknowledgement. Send me a free t-shirt and thats all it takes to feel validated.

this post will selfdestruct in 5 sec.

Funk i love you ; just used you as example because i feel same way as you.

The ratings system is controlled as follows:

    50% morons
    40% dimwits
    10% open-minded intelligent people

I love this game so much and building is fun. Hope that if a new ittiration of this games comes along it will better thought through.

No hard feelings here, just needed to get this off my chest.

Track central keeps this place alive and it's constant dlc and updates, just cause you don't get picked for a track doesn't mean you won't eventually get one. Do you rank high when it comes to releasing tracks?

Also the main people here play on various of consoles so the community is split... also I don't think it's fair to pick someone out of the bunch of people who do tracks.

There is even a recommended nomination thread for tracks, if your name is appearing in there then you are deffo doing something right.

The constant repetition of tracks that are in the Uplay recommended have had a few tracks with the same if not similar lines, but that's what they are looking for in tracks as well as the massive stuff that gives a wow factor. You might not see it as this shouldn't be like this. Tbh I know I have seen tracks go in there and thought also that doesn't belong there. I am sure the majority of the community feels the same. I ain't speaking for everyone when I say that but it's really down to preference it seems.

Could I ask why it is you build tracks? For me, on the rare occasion I build, I do it for myself. I'll publish a track and beyond that I'm not too fussed on ratings. I would think the only reason to go for Uplay recommended is so more people play and enjoy your tracks but you're not satisfied when players acknowledge you by sending messages commending your building anyway. A T-shirt isn't going to change the quality of your tracks. I've played a few of your tracks (although not recently) and they aren't bad tracks, I imagine the quality has improved since I last played a track of yours so maybe I should go back and try a few recent ones. But this crying on the forums because you're not being singled out by Redlynx isn't a good look and isn't going to make a difference as to whether you are going to make Uplay recommended or not. Thousands of people have built tracks and receive no acknowledgment, that's just how things go.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding this bit but you say that you receive on average 90% likes on your tracks and then go on to say 90% of people who rate tracks are morons/dimwits? Was it the 10% Of 'open-minded intelligent' people that disliked your tracks then?

Jeez, how wasted was i last night. I understand what you are all saying i was just venting some frustration. Could off done that probably in a better way then this.

And dapper, ye i build for myself but it is human nature that you seek some validation at times for your creations. And sometimes it drives me nuts that a track is highly ranked and then 3 dislikes make you drop all the way down the list.

And thats what is frustrating because my brain likes to know why things happen; what was so horrible that 36 people in a row pressed "like" and then 2 or 3 people that could off used "no opinion" decided to choose dislike instead. That is all.

I apologize for the manner in which i did this but its not uncommon for people to use dislike on someone elses track to boost their own.

Either way you look at it bud, the same thing happened in Evo for TC, oh people hive a 1 star rating rather than a real reason just to boost their own crappy ones. Especially those pesky CP 2, CP 5 4 seconds tracks.

Yeah the track rating is.. odd. Hopefully the five star rating system makes a return with the next title because I don't think this Like/Dislike system is working. If I dislike a track, I will click the dislike button. I use the 'no opinion' option when I either genuinely don't have an opinion or when my opinion is split 50/50. Another problem with the Like/Dislike system is that a lot of players will base their opinion on whether or not they can beat the track instead of the quality of the track.

Yes there are people that will dislike a good track just to boost their own tracks but there are people that just won't like your track because they simply don't like it. If you'd like feedback on your tracks you could alway open up a thread in the user created section and see what people have to say (I think that's what it's for).

I'll rate a track fairly by it's over all standard, I am not one for boosting myself. Never have and never will, if other people do it on your track without you asking then that's fair play and up to them.

I don't see the point in all this nonsense and think people should be validated fairly. There is a lot to consider where as a track is concerned.

Very accurate. The rating system is a bit rough. You need to have people rate who actually care about rating. A like/dislike is far too general. You have 3 ratings, decor, driveline, originality/theme. Average the numbers, etc. Or hit B to not rate, etc. Add some sound effects and dynamic numbers to make the rating system a bit more fun.

The largest problem with TC ratings is there are simply...too many tracks. You need to have a one track per 48hr upload policy and a delete my own creation button. Any track worth something always takes a bit to create. If you are fast at editing and have a bit of time...one per 2 days is still a lot...and just wait it out. I've seen people on the PS4 with a few HUNDRED tracks. Sorry, but you can not create quality builds with this many. One per 48hrs would allow you to still upload 180 tracks per year or so....this is more than anyone can make.

Oh, these are not to be taken as suggestions to the developer, but me just typing to myself and for others to read for kicks.
