Those tracks aren't worth 10 bucks. lol The folks who built those tracks regularly upload tracks of the same quality to Track Central and we don't have to pay for those. There was nothing particularly amazing about any of the tracks in the DLC. Were they really good tracks? Yes! Absolutely! Could the same builders have released the same exact tracks on their own without us paying for them? Yes!Originally Posted by VEGASTRASH Go to original post
If the DLC included some sort of voting on the tracks and scoring it would have been kinda' cool. I have no idea why it was called "VS.". If they could have coded a track by track vote and percentage mechanic into the game it would have been cool. We could have actually decided who "Won". I say that because they used "VS.". As it turns out, this is like some garbage youth league where all the games magically end in a draw.
How many hours have you played Fusion for...all dlc included?Originally Posted by NicholasBBB Go to original post
COD sells 4 maps and a zombie excursion for $15. Griping over $10 is crazier than putting a unicorn in a Trials game. Maybe you are both tied here. If the price were $5, would that have been ok?
The amount of time you've probably played is a large number of hours vs. $50 with all dlc. Consider all the cross platforming of user tracks....250 or so they technically, never needed to do. Again, are you seriously distraught thinking you haven't gotten fair value from the overall game? The unicorn was complete garage...I fully agree on that one.
No MP the first 10 months...another valid point.
I haven't posted here in a while so I'd like to start by saying I've missed you guys. If I could hug each and every one of you I would.. Because I love you
Nearly two months no fusion/no forums has given me a nice break from the only game(s) I've played (besides the occasional Madden) that I've "truly played" for the last four + years (including HD+Evolution) or thereabouts.
But..
regardless of time played, achievements gained, medals earned, tracks built, and miles logged on an endless straight line, I unfortunately haven't come back to reminisce of the good ol' days.
Today I'm here because I recently purchased the newest Trials Fusion DLC. Though I've only owned this DLC for roughly 8-hours, there's one thing in particular that comes to mind as to what bothers me the most.
**Warning**
(Due to the nature of my long posts I'm only going to touch on this single issue even though I could list several)
Here we go-
MY BIGGEST ISSUE in regards to this DLC is simple, but first we need to roll the clock back to briefly touch on HD, Evolution, and previous community wants that were voiced in this forum (Bear with me. "Fusion isn't Evolution." Believe me... I know. I've seen countless people told not to make comparisons between the games)
Don't worry, I'll make quick hit points.
Here goes-
Trials HD - Bike/Rider customization was free of charge (USD). Any cosmetic upgrades were free, period.
Trials Evolution - Bike/Rider customization was free of charge (USD). Any cosmetic upgrades made to the rider or bike was paid for by currency made in the game.
Keep all that in mind ^ but let's rewind back on the forums now.
I remember seeing a thread topic which roughly asked "What would you like to see differently, 'or added' into Trials Fusion?"
One common answer I noticed in that particular thread topic was hey you guessed it, Bike/Rider Customization.
First-
Community members asked for more bike PARTS, and if not that, at least give us the option to customize the color of each individual part (ie handlebars, seats, mirrors, headlamps, exhausts, rims, engine, chassis etc) to help make our experience, our gameplay, our style, our bike more unique to us, the player.
So..
What was added in terms of Bike Parts/customization after voicing what we'd like to see implemented into Fusion; What we'd like to see not just as a community, but as the consumer and the community combined? Here's what-
New rims (needs to be purchased using real money, or "acorns")
New Chassis (needs to be purchased using real money, or "acorns")
New stickers for bicycle (needs to be purchased using real money, or "acorns")
-- Some of these "Bike Customization Pieces" can be colored and some can't. The colorization is extremely limited... Still.
If I'm missing anything new that also needs to be purchased using real money (acorns), please feel free to add to my list as I'm going off the top of my head.
Now let's focus quickly on Rider Customization. What was added? Here's what-
A lot of new rider gear was added which is a plus, but.. Can it be purchased using in-game currency? Sure... The old gear can. But what about the newly added gear? Answer: No. This new gear can only be purchased using real money or "acorns."
The point I'm getting at or trying to make is this: Bike/Rider Customization in all of the previous games has been "free", meaning gear and bike upgrades (which I remind you is strictly cosmetic) was purchased with currency made in the game.
And...?
And the community members here made suggestions and gave input on adding more Bike/Rider Customization in Fusion under the impression that (1) Bike/Rider "upgrades" would be purchased using in-game currency like always. (2) Bike/Rider customization would be more than what it actually is in terms of pieces you're able to customize on the bike. (3) They would not have to buy back or purchase (using real money) the suggestions they made to you in the first place!
I have over a million dollars of in-game currency. What I don't have is over a million dollars in real life currency. Having in-game currency now is more or less transparent. If you're looking to buy some of that fresh DLC gear using your hard earned in-game currency AFTER PURCHASING the DLC for $9.99 +tax, you'll soon find out that you have to spend additional real money to actually purchase or "upgrade" to these items which again add no boost, performance, etc and are strictly cosmetic..
Why? Why did this happen?
In all honesty I'm trying to bring this topic to light as respectfully as I possibly can and if I've been disrespectful in any way shape or form I can assure you that was not my intention here.
I'm not looking for a fight I promise. I didn't come here for that. I came here looking for some type of explanation as to how this makes sense? How any of this makes sense? How or why RL is contracting community builders for a DLC? How a unicorn wound up in the game before the Phoenix or let alone an actual bike? And why is there a cat holding a gun while riding said unicorn?
Anyways... Eat your heart out Funk ^ Please wait til the next page to comment if you're planning on doing so... Our posts combined on the same page would be no bueno.
So for now I think that's all I have to ask/state... Hopefully I can be given a logical response that will help me make sense of all this.
Take care -
Always got time for people who age whilst posting, hahaha
Dont really want to go into the whole debate of was the dlc the right move or was they unicorn the right choice ,its god for some not for others so i guess each to thier own. I did want to touch on the matter of the money aspect for the custom items.
First off , as much as evo was massive on xbox and previous titles i doubt that them combined will have sold as many copies of the game as fusion , being this game went crossplatform , therefore any money aspect of the game is irrelevant as we are talking about a completely different aspect in a buiness sense and earning what we all do things for " money ". If they are selling more copies have more people to playing then it only makes sense to add features were you would gain more profit. People have been against the micro whats its lol and true fans are going to be as we wanted them in the base game for free but " true core fans" make up a small amount of people who play the game and the people who post in this forum make up a small amount also. I would imagine they are raking in the cash from all the youngsters of the game. Be it not liked by us , it makes perfect sense in making money. Same reason supermarkets put sweets , kids stuff at eye level. The producers of the game realised from previous dlc's that the custom items can be used as a profit gaining material. Why should they give it away for free when the base game is cheap as chips.
I dont think redlynx are being greedy , i think they are just using their brain in a growing market for thier game. Yes they could have put these items in the game from start but then i would have thought that the base game would have been a higher price. I for one like to have a choice and take the lower priced game from release. Some people in the forum have in some way expected something for nothing. redlynx isnt a massive company with bank loads of sponsers behind them , they have to gain some profit along the way. What better way to do it like this and give people a choice they think they my have , because they wont and the masses will end up paying in the end for the items thinking that they chose to , when really they was given no choice at all
Makes brialliant buisness sense and things like this is why some sit with thier pockets full of cash and some sit wondering why. Cant give things away , and in the growing market of this game , it was only a matter of time that add ons such as these came to light. I also think they are squeezing the sponge so to speak , trying to get every last little penny they can out of thier product. Which there aint nothing wrong with.
just my thoughts dude , just sat having my breaky and thought i would pass alittle time
have a good one![]()
No, cause they were contracted RedLynx employees.Originally Posted by NicholasBBB Go to original post
There have actually been a number of items introduced that rely on the "free" currency. There were 5 items in either the last TU or DLC. That's not old gear, that's newly released items. Some of them were free for everyone (free in this instance meaning that the parts are automatically unlocked for everyone).Originally Posted by purpleoozi Go to original post
We've also given away about 30k Acorns on TrialsLive and in contests. Not everyone can make the streams, or participate in contests, but buying Acorns is not the only way to get them.
