Again, sorry to paraphrase, but this sites functionality is a chore to me. I couldn't be bothered to hunt the post and quote it.

I truly believe that you believe you understand the most sensible way to go about the situation. However, I, and I can probably speak for others, can attest that combining leaderboards changes the gameplay experience, as well as sends mixed messages.

I've thoroughly explained before that I personally LOVED and utilized the separate LBs in evolution. Why? Strength of status, plain and simple. It meant so much more to me to be in the top 300 of 1.5 million people on a level playing field, than it did to be top 150 in a fractured community. Not as many people compete as hard and not as many people shell out for DLC. And with that said, when I had a burning desire to do so, I could still go nuts on the DLC tracks if I wanted.

Here's a thing that I think gets lost in translation from gamer/customer to developer: even players who don't buy the DLC may very much still get a thrill out of the leaderboards, at least for the period of time they feel invested in the game. While lots of players will move on from the game before its grows old and dies, that doesn't mean they don't care about how their status is reflected, while they're here. They will remember their leaderboard journeys from game to game as well. So by muddling things together, it really is just making a bad impression, and lowering the trials brand for competition.

Mixed messages...others have stated, and I see it this way as well, that combining LBs just looks inconsiderate of the integrity of good ol trials. Want to make any sense of your rank? Buy everything. Grind EVERYTHING. Don't like this or that DLC and just want to see how you stand up in the base game tracks? You can't, they're all lumped together. It's actually sort of overbearing.


I hope that sounds somewhat clear. Jeez...talking about this hot mess gets me all worked up. I could go on about it forever. But I shouldn't...I won't.......I might.......no. I won't.

EDIT: also, for what it's worth, I haven't really felt like bothering much in fusions LBs. between the glitched moves and scores, LBs lumped together, the panda, and now the unicorn (to your credit, will be changed), I've just stopped caring. We could get philosophical about caring about a video game and what really matters in life, but that's not the point.

With this new-school "economic" approach to LBs, players like myself stop caring about the game, and the competition, vibes, and the community end up suffering for it. It's nuking the community.

As said during the stream yesterday, we planned to do a maintenance today to remove the Awesome Adventure scores from the global leaderboard scores.
However, the team may have found some problems this morning, so we're going to delay the maintenance until next week and take the time to make sure everything will be fine.

Hey En0-, I think my score is glitched. I played the first awesome adventure track (the one you use a motorcycle on) and none of the others, and my score now puts me in second on PC, a couple places higher than I would have thought I should be. The score difference between riders I'm closest in skill to, and where I am is around 350k, or about 1 track. I'm wondering if my score on that single track from the awesome adventure wasn't removed? Just my thoughts, not sure if it is correct, but for the integrity of the PC top 10, it would be nice to have someone look into it. Thanks to you and the team for your work on this, sorry I'm piling more on!
