I'm on my (I don't know how many but it's a lot) playthrough. It would be nice if, since I've been through the game so many times, there was an option to skip cutscenes and just get the objective put on the map. Seriously. I tend to get up and go do something else, or alt/tab and check my emails for 5 minutes or so instead of watching the cutscenes. I just need to know which objective I've picked, and I can move on a lot faster.
As I've said in another post, it's all about them being in control. We are such poor, bereft souls that we need the cut scenes even if we've seen them a hundred times because we have memory lapses and can't keep pace with the story. Hence there is no option to skip them - similarly for depriving us of being able to save play at will. No! We must cower down and remember who is in control here! After all, we are mere puppets, aren't we? We aren't capable of making decisions for ourselves, for even in the game we are not merely signposted but commanded to take certain actions. They want control; they insist on it even to the detriment of a game. Why, if we were given complete freedom we might go and do as we please! Some folk may even explore ways to 'break' the game (a popular pastime of old). Ah well...roll on Just Cause 3, eh?
Agree. No option to escape out of cut scenes is another thing that makes this game tedious and boring, like the lack of "quick saves," which forces you to cover the same ground over and over.
Another problem is the "demon fish." In every underwater sequence you're attacked by by these fish, and have no means of fighting them off. Either swim away (and start over) or die. Have to replay every one 5-10 times (beginning, of course, from some arbitrary point miles away and cover all that ground again) until, just by chance, the fish are not exactly where you are.
Stupid and boring.
1) Don't get into the water if the fishes are aroundOriginally Posted by DitchDRM Go to original post
2) Kill them with explosives from the shore / boat
3) You can fight them off and kill them with the knife
They really aren't a problem after you learn how to handle them.
Usually can't tell if they're around. Standing in boat, no shadows or ripples on surface (usually). Get underwater, shallow, look around, no fish. But as soon as you dive for the mask, chest, etc., you're attacked.Originally Posted by Patu Go to original post
Tried that too. Stop boat above target, toss grenades all around. No kills, no visible fish. Soon as you dive, one is behind you out of nowhere.2) Kill them with explosives from the shore / boat
Not in my version. When in water "F" key does nothing. No machete. Apparently you leave that on the boat with your guns.3) You can fight them off and kill them with the knife.
This is one screwy game --- gorgeous graphics and animation combined with atrocious gameplay.
You can see them from far away. Try standing on a hill above the water or fly over the water with buzzer. They are easily seen.Originally Posted by DitchDRM Go to original post
Blind grenades don't help. First check where they are, then kill them. Grenade launcher is the easiest way.Tried that too. Stop boat above target, toss grenades all around. No kills, no visible fish. Soon as you dive, one is behind you out of nowhere.
F might not work but you can smash and kill them when they first have attacked you.Not in my version. When in water "F" key does nothing. No machete. Apparently you leave that on the boat with your guns.
Just the fact that their uplay is as broken as it is makes me want to force them to make it skippable, seriously, my game crashed after playing a full day's worth of content, and when the game crashes well, EVERYTHING YOU DID IS OF COURSE GONE SO YOU HAVE TO DO IT OVER AGAIN AND WASTE TIME WATCHING A BUNCH OF ******G CUTSCENES YOU ALREADY SAW QN HOUR AGO
