Seems like a game I can spend a lot of time in. But the real factor for me whether it breaks the game or not in long term value is character creation.
I would like to know will there be character creation?
Will I be able to create a character similar to Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Skyrim, Destiny, Saints Row, Fallout, Grand Theft Auto V Online, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, etc.
Or will this game be lazy and allow only preselected default characters.
There's usually quite unattractive character models in game that doesn't represent my role playing character.
I want a character I can create and feel like my own.
Also will there be options if I don't like how they look so I can change them. There's too many anomalies unaddressed with simple game foundations that I have hesitations to make a preorder.
In Bethesda's press conference for Fallout 4, they made it clear the possibilities in crafting your character before the game.
There is absolutely character creation in The Division. It wont be on par with something as ridiculous as Black Desert or some of the MMOs youve seen pop up recently from Korea, but you will absolutely be able to pick between male and female Agents, what they look like, piercings, tattoos, beard, ect as well as clothing.
There will be an initial Character Creation process where you will design elements of your 'avatar', and then you will be able to customise your character even further with the clothing/gear options available in-game. However some items will be a lot rarer, and therefore a lot more difficult to get hold of. You will probably have to play through a lot of the Dark Zone (the pvp area) before you find the rarest loot/items.
I agree with you Levy. Having the game playable at E3 and it just seems like the 3 characters all looked the same regardless of who was playing . everyone can talk about how the deep the character creation will be in the game, but unless there is actually proof of it, I wouldn't set you expectation too high on it.
There is a character creation in the game but it was stated specifically, that they won't implement a system that allows you to change every aspect of your face with hundreds of modifications.
Based on what we know now, I expect something like the Star Wars Old Republic.
=> Character creation SWToR
You can select if male/female, select from predefined faces and Body-shapes and then add scars, tattoos, facial hair etc.
IMO this is enough for games like this, because in the end you tell your story with the cloth you wear (those have no impact on the stats and can be the same through your whole game progression) and also the gear in the end.
At least this was the case with Star Wars Old Republic and IMO it was a very good system. Because a very detailed face-system is nice, but how long does it take until you have a helmet and a gas-mask on? Not long and IMO it is enough when we can customize the stuff we wear in more detail.
My biggest hope is that there will be character selection slots so that I can have both a male and female Agent going at the same time and maybe they might have quests that are gender specific, based on a characters mind set.
People are saying there were only "three" set ups, but I can tell you this is false. There were only three shown for that particular instance. I played on multiple set ups and multiple stations. (Each setup had 3 stations, there were 3 setups in the lounge and 9 set ups in the booth). There are male, female; black, white, asian; tan, no tan; tattooed, pierced; hat, no hat; beanie, no beanie... List goes on. YOU may have only seen three "characters" but I saw way more than that.
I'm pretty sure there's an option to delete your post somewhere (just don't ask me where right now!)Originally Posted by DigitalHitmann Go to original post
Well... I'm going to hell! My first thought was "girl has to find tampons in wasteland environment".Originally Posted by DigitalHitmann Go to original post

But to the rest of your post: The reason we've only seen those 3 (Ryan, Megan and Bronson) is because the developers want to show us their journey/progression, and the type of journeys that we could go on in the game!
I was thinking more along the lines of a female Agent with a mindset of wanting to take care of an injured child NPC because of motherly instincts or a male Agent protecting a female NPC from Rikers or Cleaners because of alpha male instincts....Originally Posted by c-swain Go to original post
