Yeah, what's being described here is the so-called "Precision Aiming" mechanic. This in essence gave you three different means of aiming/firing your weapon. There's the standard unaimed view with the normal reticule giving poor accuracy with the best situational awareness, then there's the Precision Aiming mode where holding the button down zooms in the camera slightly and tightens the aiming reticule giving increased accuracy while maintaining some situational awarenss, and then there was the standard ADS aiming for extreme accuracy at the cost of situational awareness. More often than not in the GRAW/FS games the Precision Aim was the optimal (for me anyway) way of shooting as it was smooth and fast.

As mentioned before by others the mechanic used in Wildlands is either the standard TP shooting or the FP ADS. I prefer it the way it is actually in Wildlands as it's closer to how GR2 and Summit Strike were in regards to their aiming; you either shoot in TP or ADS. Only difference now is that instead of the same generic optics in GR2/SS you actually have a true ADS.

All i can say is watch ghost recon phantoms game play and that's how the aiming is being developed here with the choice of hip firing in third person or true ADS the second you hold down your scope button for increased accuracy. What we don't know is if there will be a toggle feature but i some how doubt it, i think this will be forced FP scoping only on all guns or third person hip firing when in CQC like quick firing.

@Heyyou i am pretty sure its going to be just like it has always been since GR2 or as you say..GRFS. you can shoot from hip(TPS)....you can press the "L Trigger"(TPS)...and lastly you can click the joy stick to go into first person shooter...After watching GRW trailers i am 99% sure thats how it will be.

They better not make it to where you have to ads to first person view to be acurate. Ghost recon future soldier aimming was good. If I want to aim at someone in 3rd person across the map I should be able to be accurate. The 3 settings that grfs had were perfect. Now if they just get rid of all the noob features we will be set

Ok ill try and find the post confirming this but aiming will be done one of 2 ways unless someone else can confirm this and that's hip firing in third person or ADS in first person with no in between like GRFS. If you dont know what im talking about just watch ghost recon phantoms, its called hybrid first/third without third person hard scoping only first person. This was covered and confirmed in another post and ill try and find it unless we can get a mod/developer to confirm. Im sorry to say but the way GRFS did it was kinda a train wreck and the ghost recon phantoms way is much much better if not the best way ive seen it done.

@BlueFox i could have sworn on the trailer i seen a quick glance of half zoom TP..or how you stated in your GRAW - TP aiming(slight zoom).

    (4:57)TP aiming? may be wrong.

Good catch, could it be something to do with changing stance or even a glitch?

Just to throw it in here ... I liked how Sniper Elite (up to #3) handled this.
Pulling the left trigger half way would go into aiming mode, pulling it full would go into scope mode. Requires a calm finger, but I prefer it over having to press a stick.

Well based on those screen shots then its functioning just like GRP and the top 2 shots are hit firing and went into first person to reduce his spread and increase his accuracy and the best way as there's no need for in between aiming.
