It would be really really nice if some different water could be included in this game. The default water looks like tin foil and is honestly some of the ugliest water I have seen in any game this generation. I don't see any reason for it especially now that the 360 version of the game is no longer supported. An overhaul of the water or at the very least some new types of water in the editor would go a long way in making some beautiful looking environments.

Just something that has been on my mind for a while.

Great idea bud , all they would have to do is turn the crust in the lava to white and make the lava colour and more transparent and blue or green coulor and bingo water .

I would love some new water textures. Also, I don't know if it is possible with current tech, but could the new water object also reflect light objects as well as the sun? It would go a long way in making the water look more realistic, but I know calculating the vectors and angles might be too expensive

I do miss the waves from evo, or even some better color settings.

Making the lava blue doesn't really work unless you want a cartoony look with bright colors.

Right now the water feels really static and flat.

Indeed. I would like more than re-purposed lava. I could live with flat water so long as it had some decent shading and even some faked reflections.

I agree this change would be interesting but I prefer to come with a transparent bad news rather than letting you expect something that won't happen.
I don't think we'll do it because we don't touch the rendering engine anymore (and the graphics engineer are staffed on another project).

Just hope it's given appropriate attention by that time as the present water does the game no justice.

Its just a game for fun mate! Its not meant to look like real life?

Well it's also a creation platform and the last game had nice looking water you could use for all sorts of purposes. It wasn't perfect, but there was alot you could do with it. It's really difficult to make the water in this game look good and there's no harm in wanting it to be better right?

Yeah I agree, I am all for better water, I have many time used water in the other trials and it's look was much better, as for this game it has taken a turn but there are other things that make it look better, the sunlight.

The sunlight reflecting on the water is a great look, it gives it more vibrance for sure. There were ways of making it better in Evo too, even sticking a prime underneathe the water gave it a boost.

There are ways to make it better in this game though. You just gotta work it out.
