    Reinstall uplay is misleading.

    So I reinstalled uplay.

During the process it says something like: "this will uninstall your games, when you reinstall uplay you can play them again" or something to that effect.

Fair enough.. what it doesn't say is that it will actually delete your games.. and you will have to download them again..

Luckily I'm not a huge ubi fan so I have only 2 games.. that's still ~60GB. I pity people who do this and end up having to download ~1TB of games because their uplay got broken!

Maybe ubi are afraid that people will somehow hack their games if uplay isn't installed to keep an eye on things. This is the kind of crap that makes people hack games!

Come on like, do you really need to make people redownload every game every time they install uplay? Purposely deleting the whole ~30gb of a game is pure bull. Especially when the downloads almost never install perfectly. And the repair ends up downloading more GB's afterwards..

This is the kind of crap that makes people say: "Fu*kit, I'll just download the torrent instead.. it's easier"

you can back up your games normally, if you're only looking to reinstall uplay. What you need to do for this at the moment is copy the game's installation folder somewhere else before you reinstall, and then paste it back in place afterward

Yea, I had a 'spare' installation before but I deleted it when cleaning up. it's a really awful set up though.

Whoever came up with the idea to delete all your games along with uplay should have been fired, along with their boss for agreeing to it! :-)

uplay is terrible for finding your games afterwards too.. Those who can, usually ending up having to do reg tweaks, those who don't know how just end up downloading the games again anyway.

The right way to do it would be to warn people beforehand. Give instructions on how to do it, and then have a 'scan for games' option like the NexusMods application has.

Finally finished downloading Far Cry 4, a day later.. Not shocked at all to see:

'We have verified a number of corrupt files. Please choose repair to fix these issues..'

    lol..
