Hey Redlynx....How 'bout a "Trials controller" !
I'm sure I'm not the only Trials player that has gone through countless numbers of controllers over the years ( I have my own 360 controller junk yard & just opened a new area for Xbone controllers )....why dont you work w/ microsoft or ? and come up with a new Heavy Duty Controller that will handle the day in day out beatings of a diehard Trials player. Most of my friends might get 6 months or so out of a controller and it always starts with the left analog stick "drifting" after only a few months and just gets worse after that.We need a tough left analog stick for the endless back-n-forth poundings it takes.
I'm sure any idea of a longer laster controller whould fall on deaf ears any way so they ( microsoft ) can just keep cranking out cheap controllers at 70 dollars a pop !
Well I have vented and feel a-bit better but its really not a bad idea if you think about it ? .....and NO I'm not going anywhere near the 150 dollar Elite controller !
How 'bout it Trials players is anyone else sick of buying a new controller every 6 months ? I know i am ....Help us Relynx ! BTW: I'd make a great tester
....and the sad thing it looks like the Xbone controllers are worse than the 360's esp. the analong sticks ( Busted my first one after only 2 wks of gameplay ! ? Gimmie a break !
Any help will be welcome ..... so if anyone knows of a better Xbone contoller please post it here.....or add ur name to the .....
I WANT A TRIALS CONTROLLER ( LIST ). thank-you for ur time...keep on Trialin' .

I've went threw 3 this year playing Fusion one of which was my 140$ scuf controller
. I just bought a new crome addition last week because my other one was drifting so bad I smashed it lol.
Just kidding I saw a tutorial on YouTube on how to fix and clean them. I think it was Makas channel. Who does all the challenge walk throughout for trials. I'm sure most of you know who he is.
I think u might need special tools to get the controller apart and u can get them of eBay pretty cheap.
But yes I also want a durable controller!! I'm definitely not buying that 150$ elite.

Can I have everyone's broken controllers? Its like a $2 part and takes 5 minutes to swap out. You guys are spending that much on controllers, you should really just invest like $25 to get some cheap soldering equipment, and you will never need to buy a new controller again.
Cleaning wont really do much other than maybe fix it temporarily, the joystick module needs to be replaced. And its unlikely you will find a more durable controller as they more or less all use the same joystick assembly, if anything alternatives might use a lower quality part.
The elite controller might use something different, but wont know until someone posts a teardown online.
But yea, just buy the stuff to fix it. When i finally decided to take the plunge and attempt to fix my 360 controllers it was a facepalm moment after realizing how easy it was and felt like a fool for not having done it sooner.

Here's some help on the topic. I've peeled through 6 PS4 controllers in a year. You buy one, switch it out, bring it back and say the trigger broke...which it did. Allow a few weeks before returning. Full refund, no bs. You can do a service plan, but I'm sure it's for a few years and only allows a few returns.
PS4 controllers are among the worst I've ever encountered. I went through less in 10 years of an Xbox. If everyone did this, they would quickly fix the problem. Most will just eat the $60 and keep buying new ones. Remember, you're the only one to blame. You can't support garage controllers that bust within a few months....switch and return...Trash approved. I recall doing the same for 360 consoles. 2 or 3 of them. It's simple, don't make a bad product and I won't do the switcheroo....$60 for a controller is a high cost also.
To add, there is no way Microsoft or Sony will change their controllers because of a few email complaints. You have to just play the game...switcheroo

Beardin is right. The X360, WiiU, Xbox One and PS4 all use the exact same model of 3-way Axis switched for the analog sticks. They usually break because the inner-springs (rubberbands) get stretched and cause wandering, or the retention clip becomes worn and causes that horrible crunching sound when you rotate a control stick.
Both issues are easily fixable without buying a new controller, but you will likely need to buy a new switch to cannibalize for the parts. A new switch goes for about $6...

Well, I actually made quite a fine Trials controller prototype some time ago by modifying a bike controller made for some Wii game, but unfortunately some of the metal pipes bent after leaning too much on the handle bar. I need to weld some reinforcements before making a bigger deal out of it, but hopefully I could show more of it some day. That's right, the controller works by pedaling and leaning back and forth. I think someone managed near 0 fault run with this on some medium track.

I used an X360 controller for compatibility reasons. An Arduino microcontroller controls the Xbox controller's buttons, left stick and triggers. The rest of the circuitry measures your weight shift using the four load cells under the bike. There's also an LCD screen to give information and change the settings. Hope this thing works again some day, it took few weeks to make it.

Anyone ever replaced their springs in the triggers to make them more stiff ? (360 controller)
I have a feeling my triggers get way more sensitive after a while of playing (compared to new).
Also the gas (right) trigger feels more senstive then the brake (left).

Thanx for all the help and good info guys.
Also please remember not everyone has skill and the tech. know how for these do-it yourself projects.or tiny fingers for the micro-sized parts. So for some its buy a new controller or dont play at all ! Thats when you know they've got you by the B's
I still say a stronger all around controller is needed for hardcore Trials players...........So how 'bout it RedLynx ? Just think you could have a cont. made of fur with a tail & call it the "Super Squirrel" or something like that lol.But all joking aside....we do need a heavy duty Trials controller....PLEASE !
