    Clan/House/Warband Creation

    Hi lads and lasses,

I've been following For Honor since it's announcement and have been loving every aspect of the game so far, so I thought it was high time I hopped onto the forums and joined in the brainstorming. My idea (forgive me if it's already been covered) would be that where one could create a Clan (Chosen), Warband (Warborn) or House (Legion) where you and your friends could fight under one banner, so to speak.

The general concept is you can create a team, rather than a large guild, where you can create a colour scheme and emblem to outfit it's members with when going into battle. Additionally, when you score victories or complete certain challenges within your 'Team', you unlock more customisation options to further expand upon your heraldry (for instance, 10 full-team victories would net you the ability to embellish your emblem upon your weapon of choice, like a longsword with a coat of arms engraved upon the hilt.) I think it would be wise to limit team sizes to perhaps 8 players maximum, so you can have multiple stand-ins within your team, again I'd like to stress that a large guild feature makes the gameplay less personal and it becomes hard to allocate rewards for your teamplay. These teams could also be used as 'Pro Rosters' for the competitive scene, and award special titles and medals to those who compete.

On customisation, I think that the Team's heraldry should be in addition to the players individual emblem and and armor options (provided that will be implemented.) Picture a Knight, the player has his/her personal emblem upon their Tabbard, with the Team emblem upon a small heraldry shield on the chest, or something of that fashion. It would also be a nice touch that you can select a 'Competetive Colour', so that when your full team is playing Ranked or something of the sort, they'll all bear purple tabbards and iconography or whatever colour you select.

That's just my two cents for the Dev team, I hope you guys over at For Honor will respond to this with your thoughts and my fellow community members can get brainstorming about the idea in this thread. Thanks for reading!

(Oh and in case you were wondering, I am indeed a Knight of the Legions!)

I mostly agree with this. I think the Clan/House/Warband thing is really interesting and could provide more depth outside of the gameplay. One thing to note though is that even though it may be easy to distinguish between friendly and enemy players with them being different factions, it might appear "off" if we see a bunch of Vikings wearing hot pink and neon green armor for the sake of armor customization.

While I'm conceptually supportive of all your suggestions (Clan/Warband/House is a must), but I do agree with ^Willaguy^ in that, too many options would break immersion. If there are customisation options that are æsthetically consistent and cohesive, then I'm all for it (not that you necessarily implied it should be otherwise).

Thanks for the input! I totally agree with this and am now thinking more along the line of, for instance, a Knight's decorative belt is just changed to the House colours or a Viking's arm wrap would only be affected. Therefore keeping the game's easily recognizable tri-colour scheme, but friends feel more personal and connected to one another through small independent trinkets unique to them. If it were implemented, it could be another unlock reward for completing team challenges.

I hope that this topic has been considered by the devs seeing as it is coming up on Beta in August apparently. It would be nice to see rewards being implemented for such things as having a certain amount of members in a Clan/Warband/House or even a ranking system for win vs losses etc. They really could have a lot of achievements for hitting specific goals in your clan with rewards like being able to create a coat of arms or a standard at a certain level, slight customization to your armor within reason as was previously mentioned. If examples of these things aren't implemented into the game at launch, maybe in an update or when For Honor 2 comes out, if it does

Well we should get a good indication if they're going to do it in the Beta.
