First let me say, I'm a MASSIVE fanboy of trials. In fusion I am currently above level 200, have more platinums than I can count, and more time in this game than I'm willing to admit. What I real want to know is others like me will revive some amount of this new currency for our effort and time in game, or is everybody starting from square one with this update.

Well... we would have really liked to give everything for free, but the problem is that the teams don't work for free, which is understandable. Almost nobody would do his day-to-day job for free. It's important to keep our budgets balanced to be able to keep supporting Fusion a little bit more and to do the next games.

@Funktastic: There is no link between this update and the DLC except the date.

    Cheers,
i genuinely cant believe that im reading... you are releasing this ALONG SIDE a P A Y E D DLC pack which is going to cost us $15! i literally cant believe the nerve of your reply.

We PAYED for the game and we PAYED for the DLC, NONE OF WHICH included any customizable items which we had been asking for for a long time! and you have the audacity to respond to the criticism with that hilariously sarcastic comment???? was selling us a game and 7 DLC packs (that we know of) not enough to earn us a few additional customizable options?

And while we are on the subject of free content... i wonder if we will ever get this content we were told about because of the problems with the season passes... probably not... it wouldn't surprise me if that offer was just swept under the rug.

And you speak of next games... ha, cant wait for you guys to try selling us another unfinished game only this time, with microtransactions from the get-go... i guess people can look forward to buying new bike upgrades/editor objects/tracks in the next game via microtransactions... i think il pass if thats the case...

    rant over.

Microtransactions might be the first thing I HATE in ANY video game.
But as long as I can earn it without paying a single cent... It's fine. Just hoping that it won't be a ridiculously low amount for each tournament won.

    And this got my attention...

Players have stated that they want a better reason to delve into Trials Fusion’s Tournaments so we will be creating special tournaments that will allow players to earn virtual currency.
Does that mean we won't be able to earn the new virtual money with normal tournaments ?

    Hi Jonny,

    Just understood Jonny = Hairy_Cabbage.

I apologize if it came that way but that was not a sarcastic answer, it was totally honest and serious. I am happy to discuss it but let's keep the discussion in a respectful way please. We can all be passionate but it doesn't excuse everything.

First, we didn't announce the price of the DLC, so I have no idea where you bring this 15$ price from. The DLC contains tons of tracks, some objects for the editor and some customization objects. The price of the DLC is only about the content of the DLC.

The fact we release a new feature at the same time as the DLC is just a matter of date, we could also have released both at 2 different dates.
The DLC 4 5 and 6 had a few customization objects, the June update had a new bike and some customization for female rider (free for everyone). We also announced there will be some customization objects in the next DLC. So, yes, we hear the request to have more customization objects. However, at some point, we have to balance the budget.
The virtual currency only applies to customization objects, so that doesn't have gameplay impact or any impact to access any of the features. This means you can totally ignore it's in the game. If you don't like that, just don't buy it.

For the "unfinished game", I already explained that part. Finished games don't exist, there is always things to add/improve. The feature set and content at launch was worth the price tag in my opinion (which doesn't mean the game was perfect or excellent. The 80% metacritic score is fair, I believe).

You're trying to explain we are greedy. I can give you some numbers that may help you to revise your judgement. Up to you.
The median playtime for Trials Fusion players is above 15 hours, for a game that is priced from 15$ to 40$ depending on the offer. This means the median playtime is above the one for 70$ monster games (which is most of the time between 10 and 13 hours) for a price tag that is around 50% lower. In addition, the gameplay in Trials games is quite unique (not many games proposing something similar of this quality).
On 14th of July, Trials Fusion will receive its 16th update (patch and dlcs) in 15 months which shows an important support for a cross-platform title. 10 of them were free.
I still believe Trials Fusion is one of the best deal on the market and I don't think we're acting in a greedy way.

When we propose a new offer, we try to put ourselves at the place of the players. Now, I try to bring visibility and transparency to help players to see from our position and that everyone understands we're acting in an honest and fair way which is positive for the players and for us.

Please everyone, keep questions coming. Shifty is preparing a second post to make things clearer.

    Regards,

So there is still one thing i am wondering about.....

I've earned around 2.1 million ingame dollars during the last year and there is literally nothing to spend it on because the last dlcs outfits were all free for anyone.
There are new customizations coming now but wait... aparrently i can only buy them with another currancy (atleast that's how this is coming across to me).

What am i going to do with my earned ingame money? Will there be anything to spend it on??

Using that rationale any free 2 play game wipes the floor with trials fusion. Unless you are willing to admit trials fusion is a dog turd and complete ripoff compared to games like league of legends and candy crush. I think you might wanna walk back that terrible logic.

Most of F2P have other monetization principles that Trials Fusion doesn't use We could discuss that game by game, case by case if you want on another thread though. Also, you cute what I said, but there is another phrase after what you quoted.

But I maintain my point: the deal for Trials Fusion is still one of the best deal on the market. I'd agree League Of Legends, Dota and other F2P are also some interesting deals. I play some of them. It doesn't make Trials Fusion a bad deal.

I have played countless of game for 30 years on almost every console , ranging from every game imiganable. This has to be the most entertaining game with a long life span i have ever encountered for the amount that it costs. The game provides people with a vast amount of entertainment in lots of forms in game in the forum and so forth, so why shouldn't they try and gain some money somewhere along the line. Good luck to em i say , the game doesnt run on peanuts , revenue has to come from somewhere. and i can imagine others play this game everyday for hours and for a year. This game can not ever be said that its a bad deal. Far from it i think

It rocks , for what we pay for it so let them gain some revenue and hopefully it may provide us gamers with content in return n the future
