Judging from the announce trailer it is clear that shields are going to be used so why not use a second weapon instead of a shield to make the battles a bit more interesting and brutal i mean who would disagree with the use of dual wield in the game?

Well there have only been 2 officially announced classes: The Oni and The Warden.

However, the devs have said that each culture has 3 classes looking at the trailers/walpapers/ect. it looks like the divide may be this:

The Chosen:
Heavy Weapon: Katana user
Two weapon: Katana/wakizashi user
Spear: Naginata user

The Warborn
Heavy Weapon: Dane axe user
Two weapon: Two hand axes user
Shield: Round shield and viking sword or hand axe user

The Legion
Heavy Weapon: Greatsword user
Shield: Heater shield and either an arming sword or a flail user
Spear: Halberd user, maybe, only seen in one piece of art so far.

So it looks like you'll have your wish of a two-weapon fighter, in two factions anyway.

I should note that, that only the Oni and Warden are announced so everything I have written can be changed before the game comes out.
