Not too far from the town was a little house, surrounded by fields of wheat. On the dirt road near the house, a young man loaded wheat onto a wagon. He wiped the sweat from his forehead looking up to the sky. His name was Chaoses Jons. The front door to the house opened, revealing a young blonde woman and two children-- a boy and girl.
Chaoses knelt with open arms as his children ran to him. "Don't leave us with her" begged the son. Chaoses rested a hand upon the boy's shoulder and said, "She is your mother now, everything will be fine". He stood, and walked to the front of the wagon.
" Father, we miss Mom and Aetius," said the little girl. "We all do, I will be back soon" said Chaoses, as he began the ride into town. He did not drive far to sell his crops, the road was short. On a clear day the town could be seen from his own home.
"Stop and state your business!" Shouted a guard from the front gate. "It's me, Chaoses!" the young man shouted back. The gates opened for him.

Chaoses entered the town, and after a few hours, his bounty had all been sold off. Now he stood on his empty wagon in the middle of the market.
People gathered around to hear him speak, but it didn't take long for crowd's mood to sour at his words. "You people don't get it! There is a war going on! War for thousands of years, don't be fools! Stand against the Templars and Assassins, don't be the next victims!"
A rock struck his face. "You know nothing Jons, now leave!" shouted a redheaded woman, who had thrown the rock. More and more rocks were thrown at him, causing Chaoses to try to protect his head. "Okay, I'm going! But I warned you! You are blind!" He grabbed the reins to his wagon and rode home.
"Fools," he spat on his drive back. Suddenly, something caught his attention. On the side of the road, a hooded stranger was crawling in the dirt, apparently wounded. Chaoses pulled back the reins, bringing the wagon to a halt. As he helped the man off the road into the wagon, the stranger asked, "Why are you helping me?" Chaoses tied a strip of cloth around the strangers wound with a smile. "Because I know who you are, and I am not like you." They continued the drive to the house. After awhile, the hooded man posed a question. "What do you mean you know me?"
"My oldest child, Aetius, was an Assassin like you. My first wife was the daughter of the Templar Grandmaster." Chaoses replied. "The Assassins forced Aetius to kill his mother, they manipulated his mind. He was going to murder his younger siblings as well, but I stopped him." The hooded man pulled back his hood. "I am sorry for your loss."
Chaoses stopped the wagon and grabbed the Assassin. "You made me kill my child, and you made him kill his mother! After that I learned everything about your stupid war." Chaoses shouted at him.
"But people don't listen, there are so many victims like me, I--" Chaoses' train of thought was abandoned by the image of his home, aflame. "No!" He screamed, running towards the flames. "No, No! No...No..." He dropped to his knees next to the bodies of his family. He looked to the ground, one hand holding the hand of his daughter, the other, that of his son. His despair soon morphed into rage.

He left the house just in time to see the hooded man driving away on the wagon. Chaoses gave chase to the Assassin, and before long the wagon stopped, the man falling from his perch. Chaoses clutched the Assassin's throat. "Leave it a...a...lone." The man choked out.
"No! I will not be like you!" Shouted Chaoses. Even after the Assassin was dead, he just kept whispering "I will not be like you, I will not be like you, I will not be like you."

A few weeks later

Chaoses is hunched over a mug of ale. His face showed signs of assault, his hair messy and unkept. In worst shape was his spirit, halfway down the road to madness. He tried to warn the people about what happened while drowning his own sorrows. Just then a man approached and sat next to him. He whispered into Chaoses ear, "I understand and I wish to help." Chaoses gazed into the man's solemn eyes and saw his suffering from the war between the Assassins and Templars. Chaoses leaned towards the man and said "Gather those that understand and bring them to me. We shall bring an end to this war"

Many years pass

With the wind whispering outside, an old man sat at a table near the fireplace. Grabbing the other chair, William sat down.
"Everyone is waiting for you, Grand Chaos," he said.
"I am very ill, William, I have to tell you something," the old man said. "Our organization is non-violent. I need your word that you will honor this...honor the wishes of our founder," he said, grasping William's hand.
"But Master, can't you see what your people want? Why our organization is called Chaos? If not, for making the world suffer?" asked William.

"This is the reason!" The old man shouted, as he ripped a necklace out from under his shirt. "Our founder found this magical device, look into it, and you will understand what true chaos is." William grabbed the necklace. "The Sight of Chaos," he said, starting to see and hear the suffering of the old civilization being destroyed.
"Don’t look too much or you will lose your mind!" said the old man as he snatched the Sight of Chaos from William. "This is a warning for all of us, we must stop the war, and it's not about the chaos" he said. William stood up.
"You're wrong, it is all about the chaos!" He grabbed his dagger and stabbed his master through the heart.

He pulled the Sight of Chaos and put it on the old man's eye. The old man started to scream until he bled out, his face twisted in terror. William got out of the house.
"It has been done. Burn this town to the ground. Blame the king and the assassins," he said to the man near the door. From there, he rode off into the night.

Underground, a number of people were waiting in a rounded room. Suddenly, William entered the room, and called everyone to attention.
"Everybody listen!" he shouted.
"Why did we even join this worthless organization?!" One of the many asked.
"We are all victims of the war between Assassins and Templars. Now is the time to reveal our true nature! No more old rules! We can't stop the war!" William shouted.

"We will make everyone suffer like we did, we will put this world into chaos! Every king that will fall, every plague that will ravage, every war...We will pull the strings. If we can't stop the war we will make everyone suffer!" William shouted, raising his arm holding the Sight of Chaos.
"Stand up now,"
he said and all the people in the room stood up around the round big table. William started, "for the ones who work in the dark..."
"We are the dark." answered everybody else.

"For the ones asking guiding from the father of understating..." said William.
"We are the only ones that understand" answered everybody else.
"We are the chaos, forces for chaos!" they all shouted in unison.
