I find this quite interesting and exciting.
In pretty much any game with a day/night cycle, the night isn't very dark, and tends to look more like the Hollywood blue-filter than actual darkness (presumably to allow the player to see).
I'm interested to see a different approach.

In the build we played, you push a button and the night vision filter is applied to your whole screen. That might not be final though, as we played a pre-alpha version.

In the build we played, there was no visible night vision equipment. A filter was applied to the screen but that was it.

I can't say if they will add actual NVG's in the game or not... The build we played was really unfinished. Keep that in mind.

    NVG - Please Add

Let me first say that this game is awesome! However, not having actual NVG added in character build is definitely a huge disappointment. You don't even need to automatically put the NVG on the players character when they activate night vision; have the player just take a second to put them on their character when it gets dark. Would be cool though if it was automatic.

Please tell me there is going to be some type of character pack that will include night vision goggles. I would pay money (I guarantee others would as well) for a "Seal Team 6 pack". History Channel has a new show about Seal Team 6 and people all over the country admire the seals and special forces; so its a pretty hot seller right now. Military buffs would go bananas for any type of goggle attachment option (panoramic, 2 lenses, or even just one). Got to at least have something. Come on man.

Damn good game though (50 hours in). Everytime it's dark though, I keep thinking how did they drop the ball and not put NVG goggles in? I keep saying to myself that hopefully we will have the option to pay for them. Please, Please, Please give me the oportinity to pay for some NVG's!!!

    Hey Matthew,

We have heard that players are wanting there to be an addition of physical NVG's into the game. It is something we have shared as a community want. Thanks!

NVG, Still a Possibility? - Ones that we can use with any outfit.

Please tell me the Splinter Cell pack is not fulfilling the need of NVG's in the game. Me and thousands of others are hoping Ubisoft will add more realistic military elements in the game. Honestly I can't believe I have to even say this. Splinter Cell add on is cool but I'm crossing my fingers that someone who works for Ubisoft has the basic understanding and sense to add actual Special Forces/Military add ons. There is so much more that could be done to this game and the direction the game is going is absolutely absurd. Fallen ghost does look great but please listen to what well known YouTubers are saying. I don't think you can even fathom how much easy money you would get for a simple "Seal Team Six" pack/special forces pack. Guarantee it would do a heck of a lot better than the other packs they have put out.

The players that love this game, and want to play this game, love the idea of being a special forces operator, taking down the cartel. Ubisoft needs to focus on those two aspects (special forces equipment and the enemy). If you can add a smoking cigar, Sam Fisher 3 lens NVG (that can't go over your eyes, and you have to wear the Sam Fisher outfit), then you can add Night Vision Goggles.

Listen to the players and you will succeed.

....but if your being realistic then there also needs to be a toggle switch on the laser point sights, cause if we have nod's then so does Unidad and would also likely see laser pointers everywhere, so again tactically inaccurate unless they can be toggled on/off.
