Let's all be real here. How much build up was there for Future Soldier? POOP TONS. They hired a host of a VERY popular tv series to do an online mini series covering the games, created apps for phones/ipads and other compatible devices. And in the end? UBISOFT let this game die after 3 months, then had the audacity to throw $15 DLC in our faces, THREE times. My expectations:
1) Sling-shotty gameplay when playing with others.
2)Connections to servers lost at LEAST 10 time each session (Until you give up and call it quits)
3)Even WORSE netcode than GRFS, (they will blame it on the fact that it's a new engine/platform/next gen, but we all know it's just incompetence).
4)They will AGAIN throw DLC in our faces for crap that was in the original game and just blocked off AFTER we have CRIED to them for months about already existing problems with the very core of the game, but the only thing we will get is what we've always gotten.... Forum Mods trying to calm the masses.
I don't mean to charge in here like some sort of butt-head. However, I've been playing GR for years, and FS was a knife to the back and the way Ubi never (and STILL HASN'T) given us any explanations or information as to why they would release such a P.O.S. failed beta test was the twist to ensure the wound didn't close.
Plain and simple, i'll wait til someone plays this game used, sees the light and sells it to gamestop before i buy it. Don't be fooled by flashy graphics, or multiple ways to play a mission. I want to either hear the devs talk about what they LEARNED for failing us CUSTOMERS by releasing GRFS, or see some sort of tangible evidence of this game being an improvement.
I didn't mean for this to turn into a thesis, lol, i just tend to rant, and i do apologize.
You have your opinion and no one blame you for that mate !
Sure GRFS wasn't the best GR of the franchise but don't want to do the same mistakes, I mean we were 8 members of the community to be invited in Parins to discover the game before the press and give our feedback about it !
We were 5,5 pc players and 2,5 console players and we talk to the dev about all your concerns, going the most possible GR origins, dedicated servers, tactical map etc... they took many notes, they recorded our conversations around the table, they took our feedback after we tested the game "pre-alpha", they asked us what we would like to see added in different aspect of the game and we even had breakfast with the Ubisoft CEO Yve Guillemot to talk with him about the game and even him took notes !
They really are listenning to us. It doesn't stop with Paris, all your feedback here is send to them !
Did you at least smacked him in the head a couple of times for ruining both GR & R6 franchises with these previous watered down kiddie versions?Originally Posted by ISWAT_Ulukai Go to original post
I hope all you guys are right and I am, for once, wrong about how I feel about another UBI turd attempt at a AAA game... but the skeptical in me thinks that I am also going to wait for a kiddie to buy it, take it to gamestop so I can pick it up for a song after a couple of months... or when the patches at least make the game playable.
Only time will tell.
I think that, by and large, it's disc locked content and the ever increasing prices of DLC that is the infuriating issue plagueing both gamers and the industry as a whole. Map packs and season pass bundles costing more than 50 percent of the original price of the game but providing a fraction of the content is stetching patience (and wallets) of game franchises in every market genre. what's more worrisome is that it seems to be getting worse rather than better. Games released with ridiculous DLC plans such as EVOLVE are proving that a lot of publishers are willfully launching titles with every intention of withholding content and selling it post launch in the form of micro transactions. With AAA franchises releasing titles nowdays on an anual basis, gamers everywhere are feeling exploited.
Theres even One franchise, a popular new IP from a highly regarded developer famous for a certain FPS franchise, who wanted players to rebuy $80.00 worth of content that they already owned just to obtain 3 in-game emotes.
TL,DR-I don't think DLC is a bad thing. I do think, however, that some publishers/developers are taking it too far.
Is this the same new IP that expects me to buy DLC in the fall that is half the price of a brand new game?Originally Posted by L0STMYMRBLES Go to original post
Yep. After taking a PR bath when the collectors edition content and pricing plans were announced they have since decided to add the option to purchase the content exclusive to the collectors edition seperately via digital download. You can check the weekly update for more details. It was a 2 part blog. Its a great example of a developer doing the right thing based on community feedback, which is rare.Originally Posted by Gregolian Go to original post

I play GRFS now daily have for 3 years yeah theres some lag and some connection issues constantly some nights are worse than others, but the community of friends that weve built far out weighs the negative. and go figure I literally play this game every night for atleast 2-6 hours depending on how tired I am and whos on. So all there whinnos either sit back and enjoy the ride drink a beer, or play something else. After all it is our choice. I absolutely love GRFS those small kinks never stopped me from playing. Hell Xbox live has issues everyday as well and it can take days before they get fixed just in time for the next log in issue.
Happy Hunting Ghosts!
