Or a modified version, maybe? There's a striking similarity between For Honor and Unity. From the fluidity of the animations to the amount of active onscreen AIs, I can almost swear it's the same engine.
It doesn't really matter, but a confirmation would be nice.![]()
Engines can be optimized, you know. They don't stay in one state forever.Originally Posted by poftaclan Go to original post
It could be using the same engine. I could definitely see the physics system being the same.
Unity was fine its just a really system intensive gameOriginally Posted by poftaclan Go to original post
I definitely see it in the foliage, lighting, and tessellation as well. It's certainly apparent during the panning at 2:00 in the demo.Originally Posted by Assassin_M Go to original post
Yeah, Unity wasn't poorly optimized, it was ahead of its time and was pushing current-gen consoles too far with its ambitions. The engine, itself, is light years ahead of most modern video game tech used today. That said, I don't think For Honor will have too much stability problems if it's running on the same engine because it doesn't have nearly as much onscreen AIs as Paris and it doesn't need to load tonnes of interiors in the background.Originally Posted by Purona Go to original post
