In my opinion, Mongols were the most successful and dominating force before the existence of guns and rifles. And the only faction who has actually encountered the Samurais, Knights, and even the Vkings in history. This is why I think they are the most fitting as a potential faction where you have the Chosen, Legions, Warborn, and then finally, the Horde.
While there may be disagreements as to why they shouldn't be in the game such as: they are not effective if they do not ride horses nor can they fight worth anything unless they have a composite bow. Well wrong, they do have a variety of melee weapons of their choosing and since this is a fictional game after all, the game does not have to follow realism in the most intricate detail. The Mongols have the IId sword, iron flanged mace, glaive, composite bow if UBISOFT ever decides to implement long ranged weaponry, and many more. Their armors and protections are unique in a sense that they provide a different look as opposed to the three factions we currently have.
We all know the Samurais prefer 1v1 fights but in this game, you get to gang up on the other opposing faction which, historically, the Mongols DID do against the Samurais which really broke their morale down. The Mongols were that devastating in the art of warfare and there is no question if they were to be implemented in the game that the terror they invoked many hundreds of years ago would come alive once again.
i think Mongols would be a great addition if you were to watch the Netflix series Marco Polo you will see how the mongols aesthetic would very easily lend itself to this game and type of game play could also even out the factions two European and two Asian. i know the game is still in development but adding one or two more factions looks to be a really popular notion
Good idea. Mongols and Samurai seem like an Asian analog to Vikings vs Knights.
Whatever other factions might be considered, I hope at least that the general game design from the beginning will take into account the possibility of faction additions post-launch. Expansion content that refreshes the entire game with new options and dynamics generally offers more value than DLC that just adds a new area or new armor that will only be enjoyed occasionally.
