Trials Developer
Good 3d means rendering twice the frame (one for each eye). This means getting the framerate to 30 fps which is not a good experience for a game like Trials. It's also a lot of work for a gimmick.
I believe the best way to try Trials in 3D would be to try NVidia's 3D vision on PC.

30 fps is not good , could just do it for one eye
I don't play on pc , only ever played games via consoles , pc is for work to me. I can imagine the work needed but couldn't you just have the effects on 3d or do u still have to convert all frames. I gues it is a gimmick but would have been fun stuff. Never Mind was only a " what if " thought.

3d should have died with Jaws in the 70s.

lol yeah maybe the cheap end of the scale , but i can see where it adds some entertainment value to the blockbuster total pants movies thats plot is so basic you can watch the trailer and understand the whole film. Kids films are very good to watch ( only know this with having kids , honest ). Probelm is you really need active 3d other than passive , a lot can get nausea from active and they dont tell you this upon buying. I dont really watch 3d and i wish they would move along quicker the the 4k material. Its only just hit dvds.

3D (even when well done and handsomely paid for) is a bad gimmick that just needs to die. I'm sorry I don't share your enthusiasm.

Thats the point , its a gimmick , something you can have as an extra to what you already got. Never anything wrong with gimmicks , my kids would strongly dissagree. choice to see an animated film in 2d or 3d ? got to choose the 3d , pointless not too. I hardly watch anything in 3d , not because of the 3d source or the actual quality but because of all the low budget films. 300 hundred is a prime example of good use of 3d. Where the film is not the normal lense camera shot but an animated , paintshop spray on , it can highlight them films better. 3d isnt just about making things see through or making fire come out at you but it can be used in ways of signifying colour as the prime concept of a film. Problem is they slap 3d on too many action blockbusters just like the fog horn sound you always here in film preivews lol.
3d could be used in a similar way as the film sin city but its rarely is , they proberbly did a version of that at the cinema but i never went to watch the film so dont know but that could have given a better use to 3d , the balance of colour in that film was its main concept ok and comic theme. Stupid paranna films and thing like that is what takes the main focus of 3d , but guess it must still sell as its been around since the 70s.
Guess i like it for some things but not others , for gaming i agree its a gimmick but one that can sometimes change the normal rubbish to something different. Having played video games for over 30 odd years now i guess us old farts need gimmicks to keep the rot from settling in to whats the every day norm. Im even use to the engine on the ps4 now , nothing new there anymore.. sooooo last year hahaha
