Makes sense in the setting that you are a Hero and the IA are footsoldiers, that they would follow you if you told them to. But thinking about the actual mechanics, it might come in the form of an Active Feat rather than as base mechanic.Originally Posted by asdf456aewadf Go to original post
This is a great idea 💡 I think a mechanic like this would have to be more than a feat, but picture this. I believe it was L1 that hadn't been assigned in the control mapping I seen, so I'll use that for example. You hold L1 and a popup appears with 3-4 options for "Troop Command".
1,X) Attack
2,B) Defend
3,A) Rally
4,O) Retreat
The 4th I add only for an option if they wanted a 4th, personally I don't think anyone would be using this including myself.
I have the same idea but with a squad.
My idea was that you have about 5 AI that is fully customizable and are in with the NPC.
So my idea was that you can call the maximum of 2 to follow you around.
The purpose of this is to simple help you out in offense against a rival team member but
the downside is that the opposing hero has the ability to defend your attacks with ease
such as if you are between your AI the opposing hero will block all your attacks with the top defend.
I don't like the idea of having some foots following everyone around, it wouldn't be good for teamwork and imo would ruin the MP that they have set so far. My idea on controlling the troops is meant for them in the thick of it or other MP modes. In a mode like dominion it could be correct that the points earned slowly are the number of troops your guys are killing. A rally would bring your troops together and make them harder for your troops to kill. An attack would be what you see in the gameplay now and after a cpl secs after any command input troops will revert back to attacking except at breaking, they will rally automatically and if both teams go to breaking they will go back to full atk...
I'm stopping now before I go any further lol
I've also remapped my proposed troop command and done away with the defend and added a charge option.
