If you haven't tried it before, download Ghost Recon Phantoms (It's free), and either play a few matches or just launch the firing range and try out the controls / camera stuff.
Thanks. I watched many videos about phantoms (did not try), but it seem like FS.

You can shoot in TPS so (player aims, crosshair is shown):

Or you can shoot like in FPS, u see the iron sight (like in the reveal trailer).

So I eased (calmed down or so "I am calm", so, you understand what it means)

And a question, request to developers:
    - field of view slider (FOV).

FS has a good FOV, but there are many games, what don't (tooo low...).

I tried out the game (GR Phantoms), but was not comfortable for me.

I think menthod in Phantoms and so in WL is not the best. I think the best is the "classic":

Keyboard + mouse: LMB: shoot, RMB: zoom in, aim, crosshair is shown (lower FOV, not toggle), middle mouse button is iron sight (toggle).

Kontroller: RT: shoot, LT: zoom in, aim, crosshair is shown (lower FOV, not toggle) , right stick button: iron sight (toggle).

Things above are in Future Soldier, and works well using controller or k+m.

    In Phantoms are:

    Keyboard + mouse/kontoller:
LMB/RT: shoot, RMB/LT: iron sight (not toggle), NO BUTTON for zoom in, aim, crosshair is shown (lower FOV, not toggle). Crosshair is shown while run/jog(not sprint) and u can ADS(FPS "mode") with RMB/LT, but not aim/zoom in. I think it is not good, not comfortable. For me ofc .

    Other: sprint and couch.
1, sprint and cover can be the same. Or left stick can be sprint button IF 1, it is toggle AND 2, after shoot/aim id doesn't change back to slower run.
2, getting out from lower cover, character stay in crouch and need to stand up. Getting out from cover it should be go to standing stance.

So, conslusions: controll should be the best, like in future soldier or SC blacklist. It can be 1in1 the same. Ofc with some AI teammates order.

Controls are customizable in Phantoms and will be in Wildlands for keyboard/mouse. We were talking about using Phantoms as a base-line to see how the third/first person hybrid camera system works, not controls.

I don't like the shoulder-zoom aiming personally. Some people didn't like the third-person at all and wanted only first person. Some wanted only third person.

I guess they could give us three options, third person only, first person only, and the current hybrid system. But even then, I'm sure someone will say it doesn't do what they want. It's not possible to please everyone unfortunately!

The controlls affects to cinema system, this is why I said "controll". So, Phantoms hybrid system doesnt fit to me, FS does better. No, that does.
Dev could use that rather P. In my opinion. It is the 4th option to camera system.

And the 2nd challenge to developer given by community (1st and most important is campaign for solo): implement all the camera modes above.

No Beta for the moment, the game is still in develloppement, for the FPS aim some people like it.

I think it gives a better accuracy and a good view of the field in front of you than the camera behind the character.

I like the MGS V system. TPV for traversal and shooting and a button click to go into FPV for shooting, the recoil in FPV can be a little much with sustained fire but that could be toned down.
