    Unintentional melee

This has been bugging the crap out of me.

In combat, if there is any kind of object near me at all when I pull the left trigger (aim) and then the right trigger, it will go to melee instead of firing my weapon. This is extremely aggravating when there is an enemy who is close enough to shoot but not close enough to stab. It is so absolutely useless to stand there waving my kukri around without doing any damage. This is really, really aggravating in pressure situations like the Rakshasa in Shangri-la 4 when you have so few opportunities to shoot, but instead of shooting I just wave my knife around.

I had the same problem in FC 3 trying to shoot that fire god thing, left trigger, right trigger, out comes the knife. I must be doing something wrong, but what? The Youtube videos I've seen don't seem to show others having this problem.

Very strange. I have never seen this happen. Have you reversed your mouse buttons (1 -> right, 2 -> left)?

I am not sure if this is your problem, but in my early FC4 gameplay I was often hitting the neighboring keys to the one I intended to hit.

I had to re-format the keys so that action could be initiated without looking at the keyboard, and so the left hand controlled much of the action, while the right hand controlled the mouse.

Hit Esc, hit "Keyboard and Mouse", hit the selection related to configuring your controls........you can now reset your game action controls. Keep in mind that changing them won't make the game immediately easier.....you have to get used to the new layout.

In the order that the actions are listed on that configuring page, here is my setup.........W,S,A,D,left mouse, right mouse,Ctrl,Shift,F,R,E,Alt,mouse wheel (push),.(a period),mouse wheel (spin),Tab,F1,2,F7,F6,F5,F8,6,5,7,8,B,V,T,F9,F10,1 ,Z,P,O,L,I,X.F2,F3,F4,3,4

As it relates to your problem, the 2 is the melee key, next to the W forward-motion key. This makes quick takedowns easier......and it may help you avoid the issue of mis-hit keys while in the heat of an action scene.

    Good luck.

Try checking the control config, see what buttons the actions are mapped to. You may be trying to sprint, but are instead clicking the stab button? Double check to make sure you have the right control set up.
