@itooner: Top 5 overall doesn't mean as much anymore, because many of us don't want to go through all the garbage just to unlock tracks and stay competitive. The people who are top 5-10 on the original Tier 1, 2, and 3 tracks are the top players on iOS.
iOS was more competitive because it simply had better players (especially the top 5-10). I'm not sure if that's still the case, but I think Kartank, Alex, and Cassecou are currently the best Frontier players.
About this, he would still although the global score of the first 100 players to be recalculated because players remain in the game to see their progress and the LB is very important.
I think the developers have been able to make changes on the first 5000 players on Fusion on each track, so why not do the same on Frontier ??
Yes I'm "#1" right now and I have been keeping meticulous track of my times. If you add up all the time differentials between me and GTDave, I'm almost 2 minutes behind ~120 seconds. But, I'm 680k points ahead even though I am so far behind on actual track times. The leaderboard is clearly wrong, which is why my signature says what it does! I hope they do recalculate the LB, so the top android players like GTDave and manchesterctid can get their proper credit. I'd also like to see where I truly fit in on the leaderboard, hopefully still in the top 10!Originally Posted by justinman114 Go to original post
Disagree on some of that. Top 5 means as much as it ever did for the people who are working to put themselves there; I am not going to demean anyones current accomplishments just because others think they can get there if they want. . . but use "I am not competing at the moment" as their excuse. If a person doesnt want to try any more, thats fine ... they may never try again for all we know... to me those people are joining the ranks of "former top 5 players". Thats still quite an accomplishment, and we'll still see their names near the top on many tracks for quite a while (as it should be). But the game (and life) moves on, and some new people have earned the right to say they are the Global Top 5 (and are often working their way into the top 5's on each track as well). Former Top 5's need to deal with it (or compete and prove their claim once more).Originally Posted by xzamplez Go to original post
Sadly, the game itself does have scoring issues on both IOS and Android (Android has the additional hassle of frequent hackers). We all want those fixed so that there will be less doubt about ranking. I hate that about this game; not enough effort being taken by RL to keep the ranks honest/accurate. . . .
Thanks for all the Android stats, guys! justinman114, I like your "Top 100 Android Score Range"; if nobody else does I'll post that out later for IOS.
I hope so too! Its true on IOS as well... for me, I would try harder if I knew global scoring was more accurate (and was being kept accurate). Everyones effort needs to be rewarded.Originally Posted by weee99 Go to original post
That's just plain wrong. If top players don't want to go through garbage to unlock tracks and actually get top times, then they aren't top players. Plain and simple. The ones who are up there did it and just because other people "could do it" doesn't mean they have.Originally Posted by xzamplez Go to original post
If we're talking about the best on the platform (which I am talking about), the leaderboards are no longer representative of that. It's simply the players who are most patient and tolerant at this point.
Having tracks that you have to randomly find in the bunker, tracks you have to unlock by grinding the bunker, and snow tracks that require ridiculous grinding to unlock has made the leaderboards a sign of persistence more than skill at this point.
The game was always about the grind. Its no big surprise that new additions (Bunker, etc) are also grindy; but you have reached your limit, maybe. Odd how you were quite willing to accept the Top 5 before but now you cant, but to each his own. When I reach my limit on grinding and leave (as we all do eventually), I dont believe I will be downplaying the accomplishments of others who are still working hard at being on top.Originally Posted by xzamplez Go to original post
Combined Top 100 Score Range (I dont want to bother making a table)
#001: IOS=128,522,621 Android=126,232,433
#010: IOS=124,703,862 Android=123,349,754
#025: IOS=122,836,772 Android=121,759,266
#050: IOS=121,850,263 Android=120,036,958
#075: IOS=120,957,782 Android=119,047,324
#100: IOS=120,304,049 Android=118,214,952
(Interestingly enough, IOS #200 is first person below Android#100 score)
Looks like IOS has a consistent 1 million+ lead on Android through the top#100. . . . which indicates that we dont need to bother talking about the Top5 or Top10 to show IOS is more competitive on average for the "core group" of players.
Take my global score for the first on IOS.
127,416,814.
Cassecou's score is wrong.
Hi KarTanK, how do you know his score is wrong but yours is right? Did someone figure out the scoring algorithm? Objectively it's equally likely that you lost some points as he got too many, unless you know exactly how he ended up with too many points?Originally Posted by KarTanK Go to original post
Anyway if GTDave's score is "right" then our top score is 125,590,387 on android right now, and there are three of us above him that are legitimate players but have the wrong score.
