I have two devices (Android) where I use the same Google account but I play Frontier with my UPlay ID on one of them and my friend with his UPlay ID on the other. When I made purchases in the past I always did this on "my" device, Now my friend would like to have a bundle. If I buy the bundle from "his" device will he actually get it or will it end up in my game? I assume that the purchased stuff will go to the active player on the device the purchase is made, but I would appreciate it if someone can confirm that the game does not establish a link from the Google account to whatever UPlay ID the first purchase is made with and give all further purchases to this ID.
I dont do Android, but your purchased content should be associated with the Uplay ID that made each purchase. Its why you can install Frontier onto a completely separate phone, log into your ID, and get the things you purchased once more. I have had two Ids used on my iPhone before, and they are completely separate. There may be a "bug" here you can take advantage of... I dont know... but its pretty unlikely it will work to only buy once and "share", short of literally replacing his player.bin with yours post-purchase (which I also dont recommend).
There arent separate "bundle" files to share, etc... there is only your player.bin, and it knows everything it needs to know about your purchases, upgrades, tracks, coin/gems/tickets, outfits, showdowns, etc... it is YOU, and can be downloaded (by uplay ID) from the server if necessary.
And did you purchase things for each of them with them same "payment account" (don't really know how to call that) and the objects went to the then active ID? Because that's what I'd like to confirm. I don't want to share anything. I only want to make sure that what I buy on my second device with my unique Google account will go to my friend's UPlay ID (and not to mine) because he's the one who plays on that device.Originally Posted by xitooner Go to original post
I/we dont purchase anything for this game.![]()
But the transaction layer (app store, etc) is just where the money is taken from.... The content bought is ultimately owned by the uplay id that initiated the transaction, and no other. Device isnt a factor
Great, thank you. That's what I wanted to know. Sorry for not being able to explain that clearly.Originally Posted by xitooner Go to original post
