How can I gain altitude without looseing speed, in a hand glider, or with a minimal loss of speed.
Everytime I climb even a little, speed saps and to maintain flight, I give up more altitude than I gained.
Anyone out there know if the game simulates updrafts near cliffs?
Or warm air columns?
maybe I'm noodleing this thing too much. Ha!

In general, to gain altitude, you're going to have to give up some speed. In the absence of any kind of thrust or a "thermal" (the formal term for the warm column of air you mentioned), I think physics forbid you to gain altitude without giving up some speed. I suspect that in the end, the net change of trying to gain altitude in an unpowered craft like a hang glider or sailplane will actually be negative. That is, you're probably better off not to mess with the fore/aft attitude until you're ready to land and want to "flare" the craft for a more gentle touchdown. Also, minimize turns in order to stretch the glide to the maximum.

In a word, you can't. It isn't an airplane. It's really only useful for getting from point A to point B without being spotted by ground troops (watch out for Helicopters though --yikes!). On a side note: I did manage to kill someone in MP while I was hang gliding (Gotcha Data!) Most satisfying -- like a tomato & balogna samich.
