So I had 10 million coins and dozens of parts to upgrade donkey and come to find out parts are useless it only uses frosted bolts at this rate ill need 6 million more coins to finish the upgrades

Completing all 3 rounds of daily prospecting will net you some and then showdowns and slot machines have a chance as well. Definitely helps cut down on the cost when using coins.

You could always use some gems to get doughnuts and "pay" less... providing you stashed some (gems I mean). Btw, for most of the tracks you don't need your donkey biffed to teh max, and I mean to get some nice top 20 scores.
