@ubiChem , See this is the biggest issue though with games today and the continued veil of secrecy when it comes to a game, its features and game modes. When developers really feel like they have got it completely right they want the gamers to know and know what there buying into. We used to get game demos before releases in hopes it will generate more sales allowing gamers to see how cool this game is and then buy it.

So far with this game we got alpha for some and allowing others to see it streamed but for many that little content wasn't enough to make you feel like this is a home run or feeling like you cant wait to buy it. We still needed much more into and here we are waiting for the E3 reveal and maybe there will give a little more info there but will that info be enough to make you want to buy it, that's yet to be seen. I feel like if a complete features list and game modes list isn't announced giving gamers full disclosure before launch then there's a reason for it and most times its not because there so cool its because they feel it could hurt sales.

See UBIsoft has to remember that there bottom line isn't our concern but the more info that's kept hidden until launch and when or if the game falls flat leaving gamers feeling like they did with watchdogs and the last AC its not good. There really isn't any reason being this close to release unless all will be revealed at E3 to keep this information from the public who may or may not buy the game. I personally would rather my game fall flat on sales based on released info before launch then for them to break records in sales only to leave most buyers completely disappointed. I say this because you its much harder to recover from leaving the gamer feeling deceived or cheated then it is to take all the feedback from your first bad title and use that in the next one.

Is Lokiey referring to DICE's BF4? LOL

Lokiey's making to much sense again... Well said!

I never had trouble with BF4. I have more complaints with Watch Dogs when last I played it a few months ago then I had the first day with Bf4. As stated previously I have never been so angered about wasting money on a atrocious game as I felt buying Watch Dogs. And Unity cemented my anger. Getting access to beta and finding the game of high quality is the ONLY way I will ever give Ubisoft money again.

Well when i think of complete failures of a game i personally look at many aspects of the game that ill list below.

    1) alot of bugs but still launched regardless ( graphical, coding, viewing angles, unknown and known exploits and more )
    2) hype and not living up to it or even close ( cgi trailers and gameplay, upcoming features never to come, out right lying for the sake of sales )
    3) limited information when promoting in hopes of generating sales knowing there isn't much to your game but making the gamer feel like there holding back and buys it.
    4) post game support, This is the worst when a game is truly broken and you know it but cut support in hopes it just all go's away and is forgotten about.
    5) Content or lack there of in most cases, way to often do we see many drop the ball here because the bottom line is most games are developed for quick sales with no long term goals or support.

The fact is we have seen many if not all of these things over the years it just seems more prevalent in the last 5-7 years as its been getting progressively worse in more and more titles to come to market but i blame the new generation for that in some cases. We live in a gaming world where gamers only want there 5 minutes of fun only to move on to the next title because there attention span for a single title seems that of a nat in some cases. The idea of spending 40,50,60 hours just on the campaign alone it seems something they don't want but instead just jump into multi player, have a little fun and move on making even the 20 hours of single player created sort of a waste of time to the developers. So im sure they feel like hey way spend all this extra time on a game when once they buy it everyone's paid and happy and we can move on to the next one.

    Track Record

    1) Ghost Recon: Phantoms - One title the embraces all 5 things adding to the fact the game over monetizes completely to the point of gouging its customers and players despiting proving 0 new content or much of any support that doesn't directly benefit the sales of gc. I dont know if i would call this game P2W but i guess it embraces a new theme of pay to enjoy all aspects or spend nothing to ensure your whole experience to be ruined and leave you feeling bitter.

    2) Watch Dogs - Well from the beginning they had many hooked, lined and sinkered into being excited about this title with all the epic promotion, carefully created trailers and gameplay trailers delivering the extreme wow factor. All this game left the player feeling completely and 100% deceived as millions spoke out about how upset they were to get a game that under delivered content, graphics that looks DX9 despite being shown was was to be perceived as DX11 and the game over all just being silly and broken. The fact is i havent seen a riot over a gaming failing and disappointing as hard as watch dogs did in awhile.

    3) Assasins Creed: Unity - Seriously i dont even think i need to say anything about the game based on everything i read as i wasnt one of the poor souls who bought this game.

    4) Battlefield 4 and Hardline - Yup they suckered me not once but twice in a row and everything about those games if you ask me were complete disasters. This also may be why EA is still voted the worst video game company in the world with unfortunately UBIsoft coming in a close second. Some how i still have some faith for some reason that they can still release good games, personally if the division falls flat and doesn't deliver the experience and gameplay being promised thus far i might have to cut the cord completely.

The list is much longer but i think the point has been made without writing a complete novel and believe me i could just on ghost recon alone but due to people who shall remain nameless in these forums i was short and to the point instead. What do you guys think? Do you feel the fall of video games coming? Is this next generation of gamers, developers and very young community teams marching in a new era of games and gaming that us old timers don't want to see?

Hardline wasn't a problem was it? I thought it was a cops and robbers reskin for BF4 which I didn't think was worth 60 bucks for me. That really wasn't a problem. Either that was your deal or it wasn't. Sounded as if the game was solid for what was advertised though. GR:P, it's okay. I gripe about what it is which is clearly pay to win. Some people are cool with it, I'm not. Never spent a dime and in General rank I was out gunned, not out-skilled. I can raz those who have to buy the guns but in the end, I had nothing invested money-wise so I just quit playing. Watch Dogs and Unity is what Ubi has to answer for. I want to buy a good R6 game. I remember playing the first one on an old Mac gaming service over 56k modem. We played the hell out of it and it was the best tactical shooter I remember playing. That was before I cared about developers. Those days are over, now I know Ubi makes R6 and bought the rights to Tom Clancy, and Ubi has cheated me out of money. Trust must be earned again after Watch Dogs, it will not be given on faith alone.

Completely agree. I was about to create a thread on this, and then I saw yours.

I'm not even putting in $5 towards a pre-order yet. I NEED to experience the game first. Get an idea of what direction this game is heading in. Right now, my expectations are high, however, I can easily be let down just like in Watch Dogs...
