I don't have a problem with the delay. My concern is that the devs told us 2015 after a lot of questions and concerns raised by the community after the rumoured 2016 release. This in my mind raises two scenarios: 1 the devs always planned to release in 2016 and in an attempt to keep the community calm told us that the release will be in 2015. Or 2 the devs don't understand their own resource and project planning and management and had no idea how to forecast the game release. I hope I'm wrong on both counts, but will hold on to my $ until the reviews are in.

Look all I knows is (without reading the previous 3 pages) that I can't wait for E3, and the addition of a 4th team is never a negative. I feel this game will turn out damn well with the slight delay! Wow right on my graduation too, if the date holds. Would just be an epic double moment for me lol. At the same time, I dislike any dishonesty of a company "officially stating" just to knowingly delay it (over 2 years now). This isn't solely directed towards Ubi, but the entire VG industry. Time is essential for ANYTHING & EVERYTHING in life...I''d just prefer honest statements than hype/biz/bs stuff for the sole reason of ethics/morality; being true to your true fans. But at the same time....well this is why I majored in Engineering lol. Businesses can jus be so, ugh...Come on now, they knew it wasn't going to be released in 2014 (this is just my belief). BUT on a lighter note:

DO YO THANG, MASSIVE + PARTNERS. I CAN'T WAIT!!

Massive said early on that 2015 was optimistic on the part of the Ubisoft PR/Marketing department, and that 2016 was more realistic and they didn't want the 'rush to release', to ruin their game.

Massive has been solid and as honest as possible so far. I wish them success with The Division.

I have to agree with OP. I see all over the forums, people trying to tell Ubi not to release so many games, slow down, don't feel you have to release a new game every year, and then every time there's a delay everybody loses their minds!

I'm glad they're going to take the time to make the game they want and not simply push it out the door. When devs have the time and opportunity to make the game they REALLY want to make, and to put love into it, it often turns out a good game.

    1. The more time they work on it, the better it will most likely be. I am so jazzed for this game, and I'm glad they're taking their time in development to get it right.
    2. Hopefully this shows that AAA studios are willing to take longer on a game, and not let marketing determine the product release time-frame. I hope other large studios and development houses take note, and that the industry starts moving in this direction, after a few years of releasing broken games.

THANK YOU Ubisoft for the delay. You're doing it right, and I for one am very happy.
Announcing another delay in the development of the game goes hand in hand with announcing a game way too early, which is exactly what happened here. They should have waited another year before unveiling the game. i read recently, though, that another studio has been brought on to help with the development of the (presumably) multiplayer. I cant remember which one. At any rate, missing the fall release deadline in time for the holiday season is going to hurt sales of this game as well as its image.

It was previously announced that Ubisoft Red Storm (founded by Tom Clancy, work on most if not all of the Rainbow Six / Ghost Recon games to some degree) had been brought on to help with things related to weapons and the like. Ubisoft Annecy was also recently announced as helping out the Massive studio with multiplayer components related to The Division.

It's very common for Ubisoft to have multiple studios working on a AAA quality title like The Division. Sit and watch the credits for and Assassin's Creed or Ghost Recon game, I bet you'll be surprised at just how many people from different studios around the world are listed!
