So it was announced that The Division is now being projected for a 2016 release, sometime between Jan. and Mar. This is great for two reasons.
1. The more time they work on it, the better it will most likely be. I am so jazzed for this game, and I'm glad they're taking their time in development to get it right.
2. Hopefully this shows that AAA studios are willing to take longer on a game, and not let marketing determine the product release time-frame. I hope other large studios and development houses take note, and that the industry starts moving in this direction, after a few years of releasing broken games.
THANK YOU Ubisoft for the delay. You're doing it right, and I for one am very happy.

I have a feeling what we saw at E3 2013 was just a proof of concept piece and the game had not started full development yet.Originally Posted by meathead_79 Go to original post
It could be the reason we got very little information as they had very little to talk about.
I think a cpl of you are over thinking this delay. I have said it a few times around there that there was no way they were releasing the game this fall up against titles like C0D, BF, HALO and a new Tomb Raider. Those are established franchises with their cult followings. We have see time and time again in the past where publishers have intentionally delayed their games so as not to go up against those games. There are only so many gamers in the world and only so much money to be had. Those 4 games I listed are monsters and will cannibalize the market once released. You don't release a new IP with no community up against those titles. The Division would have failed if it had been released against those games. The bulk of a games sales come with in the first 3 months of release. I knew this game wasn't coming out this year and I believe it has nothing to do with development. The game is likely coming a long just fine. This is all about money how how much they can make.
Thanks for your support! It means a lot for the team.Originally Posted by Pancakes_Mcgee Go to original post
