I really enjoyed Far Cry 3, and played that game heavily on the PC. So, I was excited that FC 4 was coming out. Unfortunately, I am disabled military, and on a limited income, and it just wasn't in the budget for me when the game was first released. So, recently, when I turned the big 50 my wife and sons had saved up and purchased a PS4 for my birthday gift along with 3 games. I've never been a huge console gamer, but I was excited to play some of the games with my sons, since they had PS4 consoles themselves.

Finally, I took the plunge and used my limited funds to buy Far Cry 4, for the PS4. But when I started playing, I was dismayed that I could not save my progress at all for the first 30-45 minutes because there was absolutely NO option to save. I have medical issues, and not being able to save when I need a break really irritated me. After a bit of google searches, I learned that I could save once I was OUT of a current mission. Okay, great! However, the only option I have is to save in one slot, and even that doesn't truly save, because if I do things after the save, the game saves over it. If I fail at something, it simply resets to an earlier checkpoint regardless of the saved progress.

How extremely frustrating! Why are there no multiple save slots? Ubisoft isn't the only company doing this... but still. It is a game breaker for me. For the life of me, I cannot understand the decision to force customers to play a certain way, and to force them to replay a section because they just won't give an option to save. Granted, I am not a long time console gamer -- but my other favorite games follow the decades long tradition of giving players multiple save slots.

I am sure there are many who support their decision, and will just say I'm whining and to get over it. Well, to those folks I can only say, I am glad that you are happy with the game as it is. But for me it important to have the ability to STOP and SAVE the game when I want, or when life intervenes and requires me to log off. Or, if someone else wants to play my game when they are visiting, they should have the ability to start their own game and mess around.

My eldest son was thinking of getting this game too, and play Co-Op with me on his days off. But after seeing this save game issue, he doesn't want to buy it, and since I've only had the game for a day and a half, he's going to return it for me and exchange it for something else I'd like.

It's the one thing I CAN choose to do without being forced into it -- spend my money elsewhere.

Sorry Ubisoft, you make great games at times, but for this game, and a couple of other games recently, you got it wrong (my opinion) again.
