Re-appearing Notifications.

We got several reports about it but we're not able to reproduce it in test/development environment.
So for now, sadly, it's unlikely to get fixed.

It happens to me aswell. I'm on XboxOne.

I have the same issue but the notification is about a friend leveling up.
It really gets on my nerves to exit a track and have the same notification over and over again. It's a message from a year ago!

Please someone look into this!

With all due respect, I find that very hard to believe,
I don't know anyone that does not have this issue,
It started after an update around the time the first DLC was released,
For me it's as bad as when I go to clear a notification the yellow exclamation mark reappears whilst I'm still on the same page clearing them,
I gave up on the notification box a long time ago and now just simply ignore it
It sometimes tells me about tracks that were shared many months ago and repeats them numerous times down the length of the page.
Also it tells me about friends who joined my Team... A team which I am not in and a GT that is not on my friend list lol
And many other mis-informations that make no sense whatsoever...
It is absolutely broken 100% of the time,
I am shocked if no-one in the office has not encountered this problem as it is very widespread
And it's a shame because when it did work it was a very useful feature,
But now it is just ignored.

I hope you can have another look to replicate this because I'd like to see it working as intended.

Just commenting I get this on PS4. A short while ago I went through every notification to ensure it said 0, then I rebooted, and it was back to 17. All of them old. All of them already read. I also get a scrolling message every time at the top of the screen informing me of some upcoming maintenance... which happened in February.

I too find it very hard to believe no developer or tester has seen this, or can't quickly come up with an idea for why it might be happening.
