Okay, after 1 week of coal grinding, I didnt miss any oppurtunities and I have just over 4000; about halfway to the eventual max goal of 8000 for the Death Knight helmet and almost enough for the Mountaineer helmet. I have all the kindling and glasses I'll ever need....

I am sure I dont have the most at the moment, but I guess it does show that getting the full 8000 before end of Frostpocalypse is possible. And hopefully... its enough to get those next 4 maps. When the next round starts in a few hours, I hope we dont have to go chase fur again, or something.....

How is everyone else doing?

I've got a few sticks, but not really any coal or glasses. No doubt when the 4th week ticks over we'll need to collect a 4th thing (probably fur again).

The grind is tiring so I pretty much stopped as soon as the requirements for track 12 were met.

I think collecting extra kindling and magnifying glasses still reduces the cost of the knight helmet even after you exceed the supposed limit, so you can keep collecting everything and not worry about only coal if you are just worried about getting the helmet down to the 100 gem minimum. Credit goes to someone else who noticed this "feature" but I tested it out by checking after I got full sticks that getting more sticks reduced the cost of the helmet. There's no way I'm getting 8000 coal if it's not necessary to get the maps.

I'm right there with you xitooner. I have finished the requirements for the sticks and glasses (for death knight) and I am at about 4200 or so coal. I was also wrong about it being tough to hit the coal 4 times a day...I haven't missed one cycle yet!

Edit: Looks like all our grinding payed off, because I just got 3 of the 4 tracks for this week without doing anything else! Just a bit more to grind out now (124 more coal).

Yeah! Looks like you need a total of 4350 coal to get all the tracks.... I'll cross that boundary about 1AM tonight....

Once the gift box bug got fixed, I stopped paying attention to kindling, magnifying glasses and coal, and went back to grinding for parts so I could continue upgrading my bikes. I had just enough leftover coal to unlock Icebound Hamlet, and now I'm waiting on more to re-spawn so I can unlock the next map.

But I am now about 100 hours away from a 10-10-10-10 mantis, so I'm OK w/ that.
