    Here is another independent opinion on the subject by a user on the steam forums:

    Ubisoft needs to make a separate pirate game!

    I have an idea, taking all they have for Black Flag and making a series called Black Flags where it is like a pirate simulator. You start off arriving as just another shipmate to the island but from their you can work your way up to captain or even find yourself owner of the island it's self. A lot of this idea is also inspired by the show Black Sails which by the way is amazing.

    The game needs to let you customize what you want to look like and let you build on what type of pirate you want to be, just becareful of your decisions, you could get a mutiny or be killed. Obviously being the character in your own tale, your character won't speak all that often but you will need to as captain so you can pick maybe two different male voices or two different female voices, mainly because of the accents.

    On the open seas, your ship is a nation of it's own but once back to the island to trade your cargo for profit, you have other nations fighting for some of your share as well.

    Just a little idea of mine, I thought it was be amazing to have a pirate game play out a lot like sim meets fable in a more serious envirement. With all the mechanics put into black flag that can be so usefull in a game like this I didn't want to see this all go to waist, specifically when the best game this company could make just very well maybe this one I typing now.

    Some other thoughts of today are that the ships should be fully explorable, they have to contains provisions, animals live stock on them, the pirates might have the option to change flags, and the character will be able to interact with the life on the ship. Regarding the combat there isn't very much that can be said probably a slide update but what it is already done in Black Flag is a master piece of naval battles.

    Regarding the Crew members why they should be important and why you need to get a crew, for example if you have carpenter inside your crew member he will be responsible to patch the ship after each battle, in case if you don't have any you will have to visit a harbor to get the ship repair.

    In Black Flag there was cast away people which you was rescuing them from the sea, this should be implemented to rescue people from desolate islands, but do not make it to rescue 200 people, just make it to be able to rescue 15 people from different islands, and each people to have it's own personality and eventually some of them you might use them inside the game.

    In this line of thoughts of the last post it will be a cool idea the people which you find in cast away islands they been marooned there for stealing in most of the cases. So in case if you decide to put this member on your crew at the end it might occur that his desires for stealing are still running in this blood and he will start stealing once you find out than you have the option to decide what to do with him. Too Maroon him again , to kill him or anything else.

    This is important thing in the crew members to have option from 30 pirates to choose 10 as a key members and all 30 pirates to have their own personalities and skills and detailed faces and bodies obviously. Than the rest of the crew might be just sailors. So What happen here this will gives the option to replay the game with completely new crew members which will make the game replay experience different each time you are playing it.

    I would like to talk a little bit about the buildings in the game in this post. In the Black Flag game there was a few verities of main buildings on each island which was mostly recycled game mechanics from previous games. For example is the Bar, where you can go and have a drink and that’s it everything ends there. One of the unappropriated decision which was looking a little bit rushed at the end of the black flag game, was when you already have your own island (headquarter) you are having the option to purchase various buildings for certain amount of money and after you spend one bag of gold to purchase them there you are forgetting about them and never is happening anymore. I know that Ubisoft have the politic to release each year a new AC game and this is why they are recycling a lot of game machines but since here the idea for the pirate game is to be a new game I hope they will take a little bit more time and make the things the way they should be.

    Let’s say instead of creating 20 buildings which the character can interact in a very few ways, what about create 2 buildings but with the immersion they needs to be.

    For that reason my proposition will here be regarding the Warehouse building which should be included in the game. This should be one of the main game buildings which you will be able to purchase let’s say 3 times on different islands locations. In Black Flag there was a small house building which was the warehouse in one of the missions. Here what the warehouse should be is a small building in the beginning but after you upgrade it various times it needs to change and get bigger each time. This building should have the option for the character to enter inside it and to be able to see if it is empty have it empty if it is full have some stocks inside it. Other option that should persist is the option in which you will be able to hire employees for this building, which will be working inside it. This is the place where you can unload goods from your ship (stolen or bought). After which you can decide what to do with them. Sell, Gift them to the heard of the Church, or of the island Governor, or use them for the island development. Of course warehouses yours and foreign should exist in each bigger island. If no warehouse on a smaller island than probably a black market. So strange events might occur on your warehouse, like fires, or somebody will rob it, and then you have to deal with them. Important is that you will be able to see this building like a live establishment, some building evolving and with working force when you enter inside it. Of course option for you to rob a foreign warehouse should be available, that will only make the price for your head higher. When you park your ship in the harbor of your warehouse, workers should start unloading goods from the ship to the warehouse. This building you should have the option to purchase it somewhere in the middle of the first part of the game once you already have your own boat or ship to be able to trading. A basic monthly report of the work of the Warehouse should be presented on your attention when you wish.

    Hello everybody, in this new post I would like to discuss the next key building which a bigger island should contains and this is the Brothel (Bordello). The existing bar from Black Flag should be replaced with this building. Which will be much more advanced, an old and nice 2 floors looking building just like in the Black Sails TV Series.

    This will be the place where you will be able to get a drink, have a hot food to restore your health bar, find interesting persons like smugglers which will try to sell you stolen goods on a low prices, or a treasure map parts, recruiting a crew for your voyages and battles and any kind of deboucherous activities. This will be the building where you will be surrounded by mostly a beautiful lady’s which are ready for a session on the second floor for the tired of a long journey sailor, on of course certain price. This will be the place where you might have a mission to kill somebody and to find him on the second floor having a session where you are appearing on a surprise.

    So basically this building should be very good designed and immersed. Each time you enter there should be something happening, a fighting riot between the pirates, a musicians playing music, or sometimes maybe there will be nobody except you and an all the lady’s ready for you to have them all.

    The Brothel should have a manager which will have its office room inside it. There should be an option for you if you kill him or maybe buy the Brothel to become a manager of this place. This will put you on a position in which you have to make this place profitable and to resolve the managing challenges which might occur. Like dealing with drunk pirates, mad pirates who wants to kill you, and the bar supplements and personal of the whole establishment of course. Probably some upgrades might be available to this building and its rooms to make it Pirate Haven like no other on the Caribbean which will attract the richest pirates and sailors from all of the Caribbean.

    Also there should be some research function in the Brothel, for example if you find the secret entrance to the basement you might find some interesting surprise there. Another option which might be useful is in case if you really like some of the girls there to be an option to buy her out from the owner (in case if you are not the owner) or to make a mission to gain her freedom. Probably some mini poker card gambling game might be integrated inside it. And if you lose have the option to beat the guy which you are paying against which will make a riot in the bar if you are able to beat them then you will get back your money if not they will throw you from the door outside on the streets ready to visit the healer.

    Basically the idea is to get outside of the already existing frame of visiting a building. Making the visit of a building a unique experience that something different will happen each time when you enter inside it. This will encourage the game play and the player to visit some place frequently without getting bored. Soma interesting phrases and dialogues of the people inside might be incorporated. And of course you will be able to see any kind of strange pirates there without eyes, with one leg or arm cut.
    This place should not be some fancy luxury place, it should be exactly like in the Black Sails. Now if you go to the Governor house on a party there should the Luxury exist, with the well-dressed people and lady’s.

    In this post I would like to talk a little bit about other key building, the harbor. This is other building which you will be able to build by bringing the resources and the money for it to be built on the island which you wish to be build, or you might just visit some other place like Port Royal where there is already a Harbor. When you enter in this building for example you will have to see a big building with people building and repairing different ships. This is the place when you enter with your ship you might repair it ant upgrade it. The animation of the entering inside it and after that visualizing the ship should be the same as when you was looking with the eagle eye in AC4.

    Basically as stated before there should be variety of upgrades which you might do on your ship in this building. Probably if there is a way and option to drive different ships this is the place where you can place an order for a new ship to be made, and after a certain time the ship will be ready. Also if you steal different ships you might change them to not look so obvious like it was stolen.

    Also one of the upgrades should be adding more turrets to the ship, which from other side will required enough crew members to be able to fire them all. So all buildings should be very interactive and changing over the time so you will be feeling excited to enter inside it and see what’s going on. If you enter this month you will see a certain ships being repaired in you enter a month later you will see different ships. Also there might be an option to sell your ship here to a different characters or competitors in the game. This building also should have an option for you to manage it and become the harbor boss, where you will have to do a simple managing process to gain money.

    Hello everyone here are some more ideas about the pirate game. Let’s first start with the environment in the night cycle of the game. This should be very special moment and it should include all the tropical weather magic during the night time.

    While you are cursing the oceans with your ship during the night you should be able to see the sky and the stars on it, clouds, and moon. A very good example of this achievement is GTA V. The character should have an option to buy from a store an ancient lamp which is working with gas or some liquid fuel which might be lighten and you can carry it with you during while you are cursing your ship in the night or if you are walking somewhere inside some deep tropical jungle. Those are small details which are making the whole game experience even more interesting.

    Cursing the oceans in the free play element on the game there should be disaster events which might occur, like a Hurricane storm to hit your ship which depending on your driving might get damaged even you might lost it and wake up in the other day on some small island and from there you should find a way to get to the civilization buy or get a new ship and continue. Another Disaster which might hit your crew for example is the Dengue Fever, which will reduce your crew. The size of how many crew members might die depends on if you have a doctor inside your crew team. Which Special team characters might be lost from time to time and you will need to get another one. This should be a rare event in case if you don’t get in to a critical fight and you lost 95% of your crew members.

    Let’s say if you don’t like some of your crew members of you thing that he might be a danger on your captaincy. You should be able to fight him and thrown him over board. When in battle or if you are throwing people over board on some places there should be sharks coming from the water eating those people. This make the action even more real. I just don’t like the sharks in the underwater missions, there is no control for you to kill them and the game is getting repetitive trying to pass the same mission over and over again. This was the reason for which I’ve never could upgrade my ship the final stage because those missions was kind of hard and boring for me to pass them.

    In most of the pirate movies is about the pirate who is saving pretty girls. Such a mission should be included for you the protagonist to go and save the beautiful lady from the bad guys, wherever she is on enemy ship or put in prison on some fort, where you have to sneak inside it and set her free and take her with you, after that it is up to you to decide her faith.

    By the way in the game the West Indian Company should be integrated in the game in somehow, since it is an important part in the history of this times.

    Another interesting feature on the pirate island will be for example, you will get to see some drunk pirates walking on the streets and some of them might what to fight with you. In case if you beat some other pirate boss you might find an object of a good value inside him like a treasure map or a key to warehouse or to some other interesting locked door like the door of the bedroom of some of the governors. A New map top an unknown location, a privateer contract or some information for a treasure convoy coming from some of the treasure ports. This should be totally on random basics, and on random people.

    Another feature is in case if you get a very high wanted level as becoming the greatest and the most feared pirate there should be an organizing an expedition from some of the governors to come and get you.

    Hello everyone today I would like to discuss a possible batch of missions for the pirate game. This one will be regarding a hunting other pirates which have rewards put on their heads. First object in this missions is to get a Privateer contract and the task to hunt for certain pirate. After this task is completed next object is to find the pirate which should be located in certain part of the world, for example close to the island of Guadalupe. Once it takes you sometime to find it there is when the battle will start, depending on the conditions of the fight and if you are close to some island, at the end of the battle there should be an event occurring. This event will be to make the remaining pirates to go on foot in the island and to hide in the jungles. This from it ends will have to change your gameplay from the ship to foot by start searching of the pirates on the island. Once you locate all of them kill or arrest their captain you can go to get your reward.

    Sometimes when you are searching for the pirates on the island the wild like might do the job for you like some wild animal will kill some of the pirates or their Capitan which will make your work 50% done. The only thing which will left for you is just to find their bodies.

    On regarding how the jungle have to look I will give a great example of it. It is from the game Ryse of Crytek the level in the forest. This is so far the best forest environmental which I have seen in a video game. Of course for a Pirate game it should be a little bit more tropical full with palms and exotic animals and birds.




    Even some sounds like in the jungle of the Predator Movie might be added to make the experience even more exciting. Of course in those missions the only enemy can be not only the pirates but also a local Indians. This makes me think that a local village of the Indians can be put on some of the islands and while you are searching for the pirates to find them inside the village of the Indians. So and after that the action begins or you just might decide to leave the Indians to cook them.
