I don't think this problem is exclusive to PS4. I am having the same problem on the XBox One. I have also seen others say the same. Maybe not as bad on that console (not as many people being affected by it) but it does exist. I keep trying to re-calibrate to fix the issue. This sometimes works and other times doesn't. Very annoying!Originally Posted by Danson79 Go to original post
I thought I would do a search and see if this had been solved with tips on the internet. Disappointed to see how old this thread is and that the issue still persists for the PS4!
I found a video of someone on the PC saying that there is an option for altering the real tone cables gain. He has to adjust that for the arcade games. I am wondering if this might need adjusted on consoles before doing a calibration. Maybe there is a sweet spot setting that the software can't find on the default setting? I will give it a try over the weekend on the xbox and let you know if it helped me. That might be useless to you though being on the PS, but hey clutching at straws and all that.
So far what has worked for me is...When in calibration and the game asks to mute the strings just touch them to quite them don't hold the strings down...start the game with the cable unplugged then when Rocksmith gets to the main menu and it says that it is enumerating dlc plug your cable in. Since these two things the crackling and the bouncing gauge when tuning has stopped.
This has been happening to me since I got the game at the launch of the remastered version. It seems to do it if you boot from Rest Mode or use any game or app before playing Rocksmith 2014. The only way I have found to fix it is to fully power down your PS4 and then boot up and play Rocksmith 2014 without booting a game or app before hand. If you are playing Rocksmith and suspend the application to go to Youtube, it also makes the crackling happen.
Is anyone still having this problem?
There was an update two or three weeks ago, and I haven't had the crackling audio issue since.
If I recall correctly, it was a Sony system update, but there may have been a RS update in there as well.
Either way, after authorizing the update, I didn't have the audio issue. Being as I sometimes didn't have it on start-up, I kinda wrote it off, but, then, several days went by without hearing the crackling, then a whole week. I was kinda holding my breath, expecting it to come back, but it's played clean for a couple-three weeks now.
I probably just jinxed myself, but I wanted to see if anyone else, that was having the problem, has seen it corrected recently as well.
Unfortunately the issues persist at my end.
The current PS4 workaround (as mentioned above) is full system shut down and restart, no apps running concurrently, and not plugging the realtone cable in until DLC is enumerated. This helps, but the issue always creeps back in at some point.
I had a good session last week and also had two hard crashes of the software within a two hour period.
