+ 1000 / I have submitted this proposal a long time ago, I think we should release the objects to play the tracks "and block in the editor" will open many doors, to those who can not buy DLC and who love this gameOriginally Posted by VEGASTRASH Go to original post
Ok will 360 get any more updates in the future? The hazmat suit is still gone, the achievements are messed up also. I'm sure there's other things I can't think of or am not aware of. Lol my grammar isn't the best apologies. If there is a season 2 will 360 be able to get it? I know a number of good players that still ride everyday on 360 so I wouldn't see as a waste. Maybe 360 could get a little something special before the game dies on that console which I'm sure is soon to comeOriginally Posted by En0- Go to original post![]()
People like competing for high scores, been a pretty major part of gaming since gaming was invented. Given that trials is heavily focused on competing for leaderboard position and highscores, it shouldnt be surprising that alot of the players also care about their gamerscore.Originally Posted by VEGASTRASH Go to original post
After all im sure you have gone back and improved medals/times on tracks you have already beaten in trials. Sure at the end of the day its a meaningless accomplishment, but it adds a sense of progression to something you already enjoy doing and gives you a reason to keep doing it.
And frankly, life itself is just meaningless progression designed to give us a sense of purpose before we assume our ultimate role as fertilizer. So really, xbox live achievements are an allegory for humanity's constant struggle to rationalize its existence.
And yes im surprised as anyone else that a post about gamerscore ended on a note about the philosophy of human existence, but here we are.
I would like to have that basic calculations of the rating in multiplayer a lot earlier, because clearly it's easily abusable. I now have a rating of 3182 and a deviation of 195, where 2nd place is at 2315 rating and 42 deviation. Completely broken, but since I'm 'kind' (some people wouldn't agree) I'll say how I did it accidentally. So I've never ever played an online multiplayer match on PC, then going into one where I leave immediately (reason being I thought my controller wasn't working properly). After that I still had a rating of 1500, maybe it hasn't updated. Going into a match with 3 people, one with a rating over 2000 that left on the first heat of the first track, and one with a rating of maybe 1500 or higher. In that match I win with 14 points against this one guy. Suddenly I jump from 1500 or whatever it was, to 3182. Some are playing currently and most likely winning every match they get into, but it seems like 2300-2400 is the maximum.
I'll do something about it, because I can, but I still want to figure stuff out on what will happen with this score later, since I don't know what exact rating system has been used. But mostly to say that anyone could replicate this. I didn't even need to write what you need to do, many people already know how to abuse rating systems like this. This rating system clearly makes the rating gain and loss on the difference in rating between players, who you won against, maybe how much you won with and maybe how many you were playing with. The problem with the last point is that I only played with 3, or 2 if the 3rd player doesn't count. And I wonder how high of a rating it would be possible to get if you boosted one player against 7 other players getting DNFs or something. Or maybe the results I got was just a glitch in the calculations, but that shouldn't happen if it was implemented correctly.

Thank you for the report. We're going to check that.
The rating system is a little bit a challenge for the PC as there are less players and a larger difference of skills. That will probably be not the same problem for X1 and PS4.
We'll probably reset your ranking as well
Cheers,
That had to be the best post I've read on here in years. Funny and 100% spot on truth.Originally Posted by BeardinUSA Go to original post
Ranking in Trials always meant a bit more to me, as it's a pure skill type thing. Gamer score is the culmination of playing way to many video games and not necessarily being the most skilled. Rank today on the ps4 is about useless because of the dlc, coffin run reruns, and a very watered down skill pool. For Evo, it's was pretty legitimate. Being top 500 was a tough feat...but even then, how many people actually care about their trials rank? A game sells 2 million, but it's a small percent who care about it, so you're really not to 500 of 2 million, but probably 10k or so who have a lot of time played and care to improve it.
Very meaningless when you break it down..haha
I'm sure it's about 2 weeks from now or sooner.Originally Posted by Jongie Go to original post
