Hey all, wondering if anyone out there is in Houston and interested in cosplaying together at Comicpalooza and/or Space City Comic Con?
I'm putting my outfit together and posting progress pic on the Replica Prop Forum: http://www.therpf.com/f24/tom-clancy...-build-217669/
I think I want to go for a lighter-weight outfit, kind of a Houston Division agent, rather than New York, so I won't be sweating in the Houston heat, but I'm still considering this.
Can't wait to take back New York!
Just posted a big progress update: http://www.therpf.com/attachment.php...9&d=1430089494
The only thing I'm not 100% how I'll accomplish yet is the comms device, but I'm almost done with a computer model so I can price out 3D printing or maybe pepakura it.![]()
I'm thinking you may have to go the pepakura route, Matt.
Or, if you're fairly confident with the skills necessary, you could always try making one with sculpy. Not entirely sure how to get the light feature to work, though (remember, I had to teach myself soldering so I could put the EL wire in mine...).
Continue to keep me posted on your progress, buddy! You need any info or to bounce ideas, you know all the places you can reach me.![]()
There's more pics if you follow the link, but here's a few more:Originally Posted by Natchai_Ubisoft Go to original post

Close-up on the sling pack. My guy is not so warmly dressed, as I'll be cosplaying in hot and humid Houston during the summer, so this is a Houston agent post-Pandemic, and he specializes in scouting and underground missions, hence the multiple glowsticks.
Here's the most recent shot of the 3D model of the brick (comms device) I'm going to 3D print for the cosplay.
I just got a 3D print of the brick! Needs some sanding and painting but it is SO cool to hold this thing in my hands after seeing it in the game and building it in Sketchup!
You can see a lot of rippling here.
I'll push nylon webbing straps on my slingpack through these slots to hook it securely onto my pack.
I'm really pleased with the proportions. I think it matches up with the game pretty good.

I gave out "pill packs" to folks who liked the outfit.
Plus, put a speaker on my slingpack and played epic Division music while I walked around. This was a pretty nice, comfy cosplay. I wore my hiking shoes, I kept everything light but secure. The only delicate part was the antenna of the brick/comms device, but I could run and jump around in this and not worry about anything falling off or breaking. Luckily, there was some construction going on in and around the convention center and we were able to get some great shots!
