Anything remotely close and acceptable to that, you would have to compare the same person's runs over multiple platforums/ninja's with the amount of hours/restarts he spend on it. Wich is practically not possible.
Keep it simple, like any other track, define difficulty by techniques you have to use in a track. Not by performance of people on that track. For new tracks you would have to know the difficulty in advance anyway, so I don't see how it would be possible with that method.
The basic on ninja tracks are the obstacles.
Sometimes on twitch.tv livestreaming they're running a level 1 ninja, but....
.....then the streamer gets to checkpoint 5 and struggles there, or can't even pass it.(while its a level 1 ninja)
Some person on the chat say, its a level 3 obstacle.... so a level 1 ninja with a level 3 ninja checkpoint in it.
So if it is a level 3 checkpoint, then ninja obstacles could be given levels bij obstacles and not by the whole track.
The there is a difrent between riding a ramp or slide it (same ramp)
And you have to slide it, to reach the next platfrom. while riding it wont get you there.
In trials, everybody is getting better (if they have the patience for it)
Rating of ninja tracks also are based on checkpoints
1 obstacle then a cp or 2 obstacles then a cp, and then there are level 5's, 4 obstacles then a cp
So my opinion to judge ninja levels are more based on the checkpoints in between.
Thats how i always build my ninja tracks. *1 obstacles then a cp) so that everybody can pass it)
Thats why my tracks are always given a level 1 (because of the many checkpoints)
Here is and example of how i make my ninja tracks ( Level 1) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=en7-FtWgoLc
Its just my point of view about ninja levels, al to help getting this level discussion to end once and for all lol
We are working with an analyst to come up with very detailed statistics on a selection of ninja tracks. These stats will show a lot more information than what Jeruhnq proposed. As I stated in my first post this will not provide a clear definition but will give a much stronger indication than people's "feelings" about what a difficulty is. If the data shows one track is harder than another there is a strong possibility that it is. Don't worry about restarts or grinding, we can see both those things and a lot more in the data and they can be taken into account. Once we have some stats ready we will share them here. Again, this is just to help further the conversation not provide any firm definitions on difficulty.Originally Posted by Steiner84 Go to original post

Personally I think its all a bit ridiculous.
There is only 'extreme' classification in game which includes tracks from eye of the storm to inferno 4, are they similar? No, they are totally different skill levels but still 1 difficulty.
Just have ninja and then have easy and hard ninja. This just all seems like a process to feed egos of ninja riders.
If they do get their request then maybe 'extreme' tracks should be officially rated 1-5 too?

and totaly crazy from a LV3 to a LV5 or a LV6.
The gaps are just so HUGE within ninjas compared to extremes so you absolutely NEED to splitt
the ninjas up in difficulty levels. This is really not needed in extreme tracks.
no man
the difference bewteen eots and inf4 is indeed kinda huge when you reach those skill levels for the first time. But the difference between easy ninjas and hard ninjas is waay way bigger.
i would go as far as to say the differnce between eots and inf4 is vaguely the same as between each ninja level. you need way more time and getting better at the game to go from a level 2 to a 3 then you need to get from eots to inf4.
that sounds awesome. Im really looking forward to what data you will provide.Originally Posted by cannibalshogun Go to original post

I showed the statistics in the Ninja Dev Update thread where most of the discussion has been happening.Originally Posted by Steiner84 Go to original post
