The April patch has added 4 new faction missions and it has also corrected the rewards for the old faction mission "The Fugitive", which had mistakenly been increased with the previous patch.
I had a look at all the new missions and I also checked which faction missions are the most effective ones for making money now.
New faction missions
Blacklisted (Dirt spec, Race, ~5 minutes)
2 laps on a nice Dirt track in the Black Hills, Midwest.
Jurassic Raid (Raid spec, Race, ~3 minutes)
This race finishes in the Dinosaur theme park in The South. Unfortunately some sections of it are very bumpy, so you will need some luck for a flawless run here.
Let It Snow (Raid spec, Checkpoint Run, ~1 minute)
An extremely short track along the skiing courses in the mountains. This is now by far the shortest faction mission in the game. It can be done in less than a minute and the next longest mission takes about 1:40.
Treasure Hunt (Raid spec, Collect, ~2 minutes)
Collecting crates. The final section is a bit confusing and it is not so clear what the best route is, so if you already disliked the previous collect missions, then you surely won't like this one either.
Overall it is disappointing that the new missions are all Dirt and Raid because these are exactly the specs where we already had a lot of short faction missions. Street, Perf and Circuit are the specs where some more missions would have been more interesting.
Faction missions that now give the most money (Version 3)
I had to update this section several times because at first I didn't consider the loading times and in the next version I had still overlooked a few missions. I believe I have now finally considered everything though.
There are 5 different length categories for the faction missions, each giving certain rewards. These are the categories:
Category Name Ingame Description Bucks per run Reputation per run Very Short <10 minutes 4400 110 Short <10 minutes 8800 220 Medium 10-60 minutes 33000 825 Long >1 hour 88000 1650 Very Long >1 hour 17600 3300
If you don't get the same numbers for bucks or reputation, then you are missing some of the perks in the HQ.
For a mission to be a candidate for giving the most money per hour it will obviously have to be the shortest mission in its category, so let's look at the shortest mission in each of the 5 categories.
The shortest mission in "Very Short" is by far the new mission "Let It Snow", since it takes about 1 minute and the next shortest one takes about 1:40.
In the category "Short" there are 3 different missions that can be done in less than 2:50. They are "On Thin Ice", "The Hurricane" and "The Point Of No Return".
In the category "Medium" there are 2 missions that can be done in less than 12 minutes, "Fleeing The Country" and "Leaving LA".
The shortest mission in "Long" is "One Huge Loop" with about 35 minutes. The shortest in "Very Long" is "Highway Child" with about 60 minutes.
Let's now try to calculate how much these missions give if you play them for one hour. Here we have to consider the loading times of about 30 seconds per run, which has almost no impact on the very long missions but a big impact on the short ones. For example "Let It Snow" can only be done 40 times per hour and not 60 times because the loading times increase the length of one run from 1 minute to 1:30.
Mission Length with loading times Bucks per run Rep per run Bucks per hour Rep per hour Let It Snow ~1:30 4400 110 176k 4400 On Thin Ice ~3:15 8800 220 ~162k ~4000 The Hurricane ~3:15 8800 220 ~162k ~4000 The Point Of No Return ~3:15 8800 220 ~162k ~4000 Fleeing The Country ~10:00 33000 825 198k 4950 Leaving LA ~11:30 33000 825 ~173k ~4300 One Huge Loop ~35 minutes 88000 1650 ~150k ~2800 Highway Child ~60 minutes 176000 3300 176k 3300
As you can see a lot of the missions are not very far away from each other, so you have a lot of viable options now when you want to play faction missions and make money or rep as fast as possible. There is also something available for every spec with the exception of Perf. So the balance is a lot better now than it was before the patch, where "The Fugitive" gave twice as much money per hour as the second best mission.
The number 1 mission now is actually "Fleeing The Country", which is the same type of mission that "The Fugitive" was because there are no checkpoints at all and you can save a lot of time if you are using a different route than the GPS route. With the perfect route and perfect driving it can be done in a race time of about 9:30, so 10 minutes with loading times.
Down below you will find videos that show how the listed times can be achieved.
Let It Snow (Race Time 0:55)

One Huge Loop (Race Time 39 minutes, can be done in about 35)
Spoiler: Show
Highway Child (Race Time 62 minutes, can probably still be improved a bit)
Spoiler: Show
I will try to make better videos of the long missions when I have time.
Keep in mind that these are only the faction missions that give the most money per hour. It doesn't mean that faction missions are the fastest way overall. For example PvP might give more if you can constantly pick the most effective tracks but I am not sure about that and it is not the concern of this topic.

I have updated my original post. I was actually wrong. The situation is pretty balanced now between the 5 most effective missions. In my first post I didn't consider that the loading times per run are about 30 seconds long.
So one run in "Let It Snow" actually takes about 90 seconds in total. That means you can get 40 * 4400 bucks per hour, which is 176k, exactly the same that you get for one run in "Highway Child".
The other 3 missions take about 3:10 - 3:20 per run with loading times, so you can do them about 19 times per hour and each run gives 8800. That is 167k per hour.
So now we actually have 5 missions that are more or less equally effective. That is actually pretty good already. Of course it could still be improved much further but it is a clear improvement compared to the situation before this patch.
Well, not about factions, but in general I'm very much liking this patchNo names, no cops, no location "announcements", & by choice no stunts bucks. Leaves me just feeling...http://youtu.be/-JfEJq56IwI
Also, I might just b seeing things, but it looks like near-cam has been pulled back just the slightest bit, for a slightly wider view? If so, no complaints on my part, all good. Also 1 good thing for folks complaining about cockpit: looks like g-force has been improved. No more forward movement when boosting; ur either pushed back a bit, or u mostly stay in place & "rattle".
Will check sum more, w/ more cars. But so far, I'm a happy camper![]()
First off, love the post...
However, I get slightly different RP payouts per hour then you, which I've also taken into account start cut scene at about 30 seconds, and also the end scene, at nearly 10 seconds, therefore I add 40 seconds into my calculations.
Here is what I get from my times, which I record and get an average time per mission. (So it's not based on the best score possible).
Faction Mission : RP Per HOUR
Leaving LA : 3817
Let It Snow : 3771
Fleeing The Country : 3348
White Mountain Loop : 3308
The Hurricane : 3246
Jurassic Raid : 3078
Race From Justice : 3046
A Fistful Of Dirt : 3037
Highway Child : 2999
Note: Point of no return as been reduce in RP to 110 and 4400 Bucks.
Here are my average and best times, (so far)... I know I can improve on some of them.
Leaving LA Average : 12m18s -- My Best : 12m11s
Let It Snow Average : 1m5s -- My Best : 0m59s
Fleeing The Country Average : 14m7s -- My Best : 14m7s
White Mountain Loop Average : 3m19s -- My Best : 3m12s
The Hurricane Average : 3m24s -- My Best : 3m13s
Jurassic Raid Average : 3m31s -- My Best : 3m16s
Race From Justice Average : 15m35s -- My Best : 15m32s
A Fistful Of Dirt Average : 3m41s -- My Best : 3m38s
Highway Child Average : 65m21s -- My Best : 65m21s
These are XBOX ONE times...
Well, I already considered all of the loading and cut scene times in my update. I tested it on Let It Snow and for me it took exactly 90 seconds from one race start to the next with a race time of 1:00, so the total loading times per run are 30 seconds for me. I am on PC though. Maybe it is a bit slower on console.
And I just checked it again and on PC you still get 8800 for Point Of No Return. That is strange that it was changed to 4400 for you.
I have to admit that I overlooked the 10-60 mins missions though. I thought that they all take about 20 minutes but I guess I remembered it wrong then. If you could do them in 12 minutes including loading times, then they would give 165k bucks per hour and would be at the top of the list as well. I will have to take a look at them again.
The Hurricane and On Thin Ice are definitely faster than White Mountain Loop though if you are using the shortcuts from my videos. You can ignore the one under the pipes on Hurricane if it is too difficult. Even without that one it should be faster.
My apologies, Point Of No Return is still 8800 bucks and 220 RP, don't know where I got that from, which makes it a better money earner... Besides its one I really like.
What a great short cut on The Hurricane, I've got to try that out, so thanks.
Other than cutting the corners a bit fine, I didn't see any short cut on, On Thin Ice.
The last cut scene is when you've just crossed the line, one the XBOX One, it takes a small amount of time showing you the result, which is annoying, as I want an instant retry...![]()
