Reading the solutions on this forum, I removed the game entirely, reinstalled it from the App Store, and played the tutorial and missions until uPlay came up. I reconnected and got the message that my save was being downloaded. After reaching around 99% the game crashed again. When I remove the game again and start it, I can play as long as I don't connect to uPlay and resume my old save. Resetting my iPhone doesn't solve the problem and reinstalling (tried it four times now) apparently doesn't remedy this issue.

    -- UPDATE --
I tried a few more times to close the app (double press home button, close app) and restart Trials. It would either crash immediately, or it would restart downloading the latest content. In the latter case it would crash at 99%. Somehow I got it to work like this:
    - Close the app entirely
    - Switch on Airplane Mode
    - Open Trials: Frontier (I 'd get a message that an internet connection is required)
    - Switch back to the home screen and turn off Airplane mode
    - Switch back to Trials Frontiers

After this the download progressed normally and I'm back in the game. Hope it helps others as well.
Thank you very much Gr4fGr4ver for sharing this with the community!!
    Very much appreciated

Would appreciate any help as the game is now unplayable, thanks.
    Hi alexwach77,

Did you try all the steps above?

I have no problem starting the app, installing the app, downloading the uPlay content, etc., the game just slows and the app crashes after about 2-5 minutes of gameplay. When I delete and reinstall the app, it lasts about 10 minutes before crashing. Then the next time I open it, it will crash within 2 minutes again. It always happens after I've started a race as well. It also doesn't crash until my uPlay game is downloaded, so I'm guessing it's a problem with my saved game, which I won't delete because I've been playing this game for over a year.

So it only crashes when you are connected to Uplay?

My game is still experiencing crash issues after following the advice in this thread. I deleted the app and reinstalled it, completed the first part of the story and re-downloaded my saved data. I am using the iPhone 5c iOS version 9.2.1 (13D15). The crashing isn't as bad as it was before I reinstalled the app, and it is not constant. Sometimes I can open the app and play for 30+ minutes without any issues. Other times I have issues after the first track. It also rarely if ever affects show downs, it seems to only be in the single player. I speculate that it is an advertisement issue as the amount of ads I see between tracks seems to have dropped right about the time I started having issues. There are also times when I try to watch the ads to earn in game items and sometimes they work and sometimes they play and then I don't get a reward.

    my solution

I had to delete all my friends to make my game stop crashing. No more daily re-downloading of the game! But at the cost of not being connected to friends on Uplay.

update: nope, my game started crashing again several days later
