You can't add a picture in your cockpit.

FB is not open source like CFS3.

You can put one by your monitor though. Is she pretty?

    Thanks

Yes and below are the steps.

    1) Open a pilot file that already exists; hopefully one with the type of uniform/nationality you want. You'll find it in PaintSchemes/Pilots inside your root IL-2FB folder.

    2) Find the face area on the template.

    3) Get a nice picture of yourself shot from a straight ahead aspect, like a passport or driver's license. Or use a digital camera. Make your picture's.jpg or .gif or whatever correspond to the same specs as the pilot template. Same # colors, same bit density, etc. Check the Properties of the original to get this information. Have both your photo and the template photo open on your desktop at the same time.

    4) First "select" the face area in the template. Then, go to your photo and Grab/select that portion of your picture that corresponds to the face area in the template file: usually that means mid forehead to chin, and cheek to cheek (without any ear protrusion). The template photo may be a little distorted because it was designed to "stretch" over the face of the 3D pilot model. Don't worry if that section on your picture is not the same dimensons as in the template.

    5) Copy your photo's face area; then go back to the template and use Paste INTO to place your face area into the same area in your pilot template, Use the skew/scale tools to make your photo's face conform to fill the same space. If this creates a new layer, be sure you have good results before you flatten the image down into one image.

"Save AS" the altered file. Do NOT merely save, because you will then overwrite your original template. Give it your name (ex., Sturmtrooper_pilot.and make sure it goes into the proper file heirarchy as the original pilot template.

Then find the new file in your folder and do a Properties check on it to be sure the file size is about the same as other pilot files in the folder. If not, it's probably not been saved as the right bit density and may not be recognized by the game.

Go into the game and see if you can select the pilot in the dropdown.

Dude, I know your squadron's C.O. , and if you think he's going to allow you to stick your girl's picture in your cockpit, then you'd better think again.
