Well, I've just returned after about a year and I'm enjoying the mechanics still. Some key issues fixed for me (like the using cards across multiple decks) are welcome, but it would be nice to have a bit more of a lively community and community events.Originally Posted by jaymiechan Go to original post
I've found it easy to amass a significant collection without dropping much in the way of money (albeit I have spent, in part to support the devs and in part because I'm impatient!).
I rarely come across any smacktalk or trolling during the game, which is a plus; although few people talk at all during games, even gg or wp.
I play this game since Closed Beta and the reality is even if i stop to play for some time, i always comeback. There's something unique in this game that i don't find in other card games. This game has so much potential and could be great competitor of the current popular card games, but unfortunately the company behind this project didn't know how to advertise it and made bad decisions. I have a strong "affection" to this game and i would like to see spread through the world like HS does currently.
I agree with Hantziie.
The game is really great, but the feeling you get when playing is "this could be so much more". Many tiny things don't seem to have been thought through (displaying codes/links in the game but making them not C&P-able or even links for one thing, the whole client starting page seems to not have been updated since maybe some early beta....).
However it is a great game, it is fun, has a huge variety of playstyles, lots of tactics & decisionmaking can be brought to the table.
I played HS for a week or two after they opened the beta, but damn, after playing MMDoC for a while it just felt so....bland, boring, compared to the riches we're offered here.
If only they were shown more love from the side of the publisher/owner.
I'm a vet' too, and I think DoC have more depht, natural card advantage, more tacticals options. Always something to do, brain intensive.what is there that would make me want to STAY in the game?
The only way to understand it it's to play to it. It take me many weeks to realize that i prefer this game over MTG for example (online for sure).
Yes, the ingame portions of MMDoC blow away anything else I have played (maybe not ChronX, but ChronX was a bit different kind of ccg). It's the out of game portions which drive most of the frustration. That includes the current inferNO imbalance (though I think it's still a bit overblown, none the less, it's still there), the lack of advertising, the slow response times, the unwillingness to share information with the community, the chat bug, marketing, ...Originally Posted by Enchanteur33 Go to original post
Ok, it's not that all of those things are always bad, it's that they are very rarely good. Someone else somewhere else discussed presentation, and it's really the presentation of the game both before by UBI, though at least there was R2P to keep things moving, and now by BB which is so frustrating to those of us who really want this game to become as popular as it deserves to be, based off of its technical merits.
Honestly, I've been frustrated by it for a while, I keep that to myself mostly because there's no need to just spew more worthless pollution out there, and yet... I still log in and do my dailies every day. I still tweak up certain decks to see how the changes work, I still make weekly decks and poke about in streams...
Granted, I am essentially a F2P player, so I can't make any claims about being ripped off (those who do are way out of line in my opinion, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions). I just see so much as possible with a better amount of PR, and that PR just never seems to come.
@Licker34 you couldn't have made a better point. While I'm not entirely F2P (bought the Steam Puzzles and would by more of those if I could because they're amazing value), I still feel the same way.
@Hantziie also made a great point about the mechanical prowess this game has over its competitors. So many interesting concepts and yet ... it sometimes feels like it could be so much more. This game truely makes me sad sometimes.
It really makes me sad too. I've been playing this since the beginning and seeing this game sink in each update is a bit frustrating.Originally Posted by Innocenz Go to original post
