Just bought Far Cry 4 and after installation I'm greeted by Uplay with the message "A Ubisoft service is not available at the moment. You can try again later or switch to offline mode.".
Of course when trying offline mode I get "If this is your first time using Uplay on this computer you need to log in online at least once before using offline mode.".
(just in case someone is wondering what that moment 22 is all about...)
The C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\logs\launcher_log.txt states:
"Http status code is 404 for url https://api-ubiservices.ubi.com/v2/policies/XX?contentFormat=html"
I wrote a support case (of course) but still no reply. Only one day wait yet so...
Anyhow as today is the second day of this problem, and I understand that it's a common issue (granted without a solution ..but still..), so just to verify:
As I can't connect to Ubisoft services I can't play the game (even offline) ?
I'm starting to get the feeling I will have to return the game as it won't work... :-/

did u play update for you ? it may be the version that installed from your DVD version is out of Date and did not update properly
current version is dated march 31 2015 version 3935
you know you do need a u play account .. right ?
if not you may want to Download the latest version and try installing it on top of your existing install

you also may need to open some ports on your router so the u play client can communicate properly

also keep in mind once u play does connect you probably will have quite a few gig of updates to download and install as Far Cry 4 has had 9 patches since release
this should happen with you doing nothing ..as soon as you connect to u play..... it should automatically update your game
might be a good idea also to do a file verification
make sure you run the u play client as run as Administrator when you do a file verify .. it also may help if you always set the u play client to start as Run as Administrator

Thanks for suggestions. However I now found the issue.
It is something wrong with my account. I figure I could create a new one just try try ..but the email was already registered so after a quick check in my password file I successfully was able to log into that account and it worked.
So far so good. Now I hope support can remove the first (this) account completely so that I can change my email on the second account (which is using an old email address that I dont really use any more) to this.

i think to modify your account you need to call em on the phone
the game you activate will be tied to the e mail account you use when you install the product
