Hello everyone,
I have recently been having an issue with Far Cry 4's Map Editor. First off, Uplay itself doesn't usually start without me running it as an administrator because I get an error message that says, "A debugger has been found running in your system. Please, unload it from memory and restart your program." This only happens about 2/3 of the time I try to run Uplay and Far Cry 4 itself, and as if that wasn't worrying enough, I have scoured the web looking for a solution to this, but to no avail (I have tried almost everything). But now, on to the real and confusing problem;
Far Cry 4 itself runs perfectly fine, whether I launch it from a shortcut, etc. doesn't matter. The Map Editor, though doesn't launch at all. I've tried running it from its usual shortcut, from Uplay itself, and from the installation folder (as an administrator), and the times when it doesn't give me the error message I said above, Uplay starts and the black loading box with the game's logo appears with the loading bar at the bottom, but once it reaches the end, it simply closes down and nothing happens; I'm back at Uplay.
I have tried to rid myself of the debugger error by uninstalling several programs I was instructed to from other forums, performed clean boots of my PC, as well as uninstalled other third-party programs that could be causing it, like LogMeIn Hamachi Client. I have checked my PC's registry and removed all sorts of junk files and unnecessary applications, basically stripping my PC down to its bare necessities. Sadly, none of this worked, as the error message persists and the Map Editor still doesn't work. Therein lies the problem; I'm thinking now the only possible issue is my operating system. A few weeks ago my PC automatically updated to a new build of Windows 10 Beta.
My PC's Specs (in short):
-Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview, Build 10041
-MSI Geforce GTX 970 4G OC
-AMD Athlon X4 750k Quad Core Processor, running at 4.02GHz
Before the update it ran fine, but I'll admit I hadn't run the Map Editor since then, obviously until now, leading me to believe further that the OS is the problem. From other forums, I've gathered that surprisingly not very many people are having the same issue with the Map Editor, but a few with the 'debugger' error.
I think it's certainly very strange that the Map Editor won't work when the actual game itself will. I play other games from all sorts of different launchers, such as Steam and Origin, and neither they nor their games give me any problems, not even that 'debugger' one. Any feedback would be appreciated, as I just don't know what to do anymore. Thanks.
