How do i build Backround Mountains quickly?

    Hi

My track is in the sky in the middle of the ocean. I used the mountains of the default map as the backround for parts of my track. However as my track goes i pass the mountains and now i only have the ocean in the backround.
I want to place more of those massiv mountains to extent the skyline but so far i was only able to make very small ones.
Building them with the editor rocks would take forever and i would need 1000's of them.
I was hoping someone could help me out with this.

    thx in advance

You could start with an inverted Riverbed to raise the land up, then use Hill and Bump to form your mountains. Paint with ground textures.

    If you have DLC installed:

Welcome to the Abyss: Cave category has some huge rock blocks/cave domes/tunnels, brown-ish color
Fire in the Deep: Magma Rock category has similar huge rock blocks/domes/tunnels but darkgrey color

Terrain doesn't really work that well if it's far away as textures/shape can glitch a bit and show the baseworld texture or holes in the shapes if it's stretched a lot.

It still works fine for details closer by however, paint it with a mix of cliff/grass/snow type textures, and play around with the color/alpha.

Hi guys , there is actually objects in fire in the deep and the abyss i think that are very mountain like and are very large rock formations. However they are in full rock style and some are even in a black lava rock but with some trees added and maybe something to obscure them alittle like cloud effects or so forth . If they are far off in the back ground then thats even more suitable as they will form a dark image if the sun is placed behind them.
