Thanks. A quick test of popping a syringe and watching what happens after the duration should do it.Originally Posted by Far_Cry2_Fan Go to original post
OK, after I finally found some red plants, I crafted (in a clunky way compared to FC3), and used the hunting syringe.
Once it expired, those animals tagged with the herbivore or predator icons retained them, and the ability to see them through solid rock/walls/foliage/etc... persisted as well. This persisted for at least 5 minutes following the timeout.
As for "permanent", I wandered off several hundred yards and came back after 5-8 minutes or so, and could see no highlighted animals, so either they wandered off, or I exceeded some proximity threshold that turned off the icon and wall hacks.
The whole craft/use scenario is clunky, FC3's was better, though I suppose it could be argued with more options, they had to provide different means.
Thankfully I don't use them, so the clunkiness does not apply to me, sorry those that do use them have a less than ideal implementation to work with.
Thanks. So no change with patch 1.9. Didn't think there would be
"permanent" was of course in the context of the NPCs/animals remaining tagged once the duration boost expired. It appears there's a distance involved with those tagged, either as you the player move off, and don't use another syringe, or they move off some distance from you.
Agree completely on how clunky is this setup compared to FC3.
Thanks again.
