Currently 29, but I will be "over the hill" next month

I'm 33 and finding this really eye opening. Not sure if this is a decent sample of players, or just of forum users. Maybe some of us older folks who grew up playing nintendo hard games are drawn to the challenge offered by the Trials franchise.

Yep that's me. I always find great satisfaction in completing difficult tasks in games, and I grew up with playing Nintendo, MSX and commodore. I also have some great memories playing excitebike on my Gameboy as kid. And currently I am playing Bloodborne on PS4, quite a challenge, but I love it.

I seem to be a huge outlier compared to half of the people here. At least I have a long time for improvement.

When we do an age poll on Rocksmith players average about 40 yrs old.
Young people tend to use Facebook or Twitter not forums, at least that's the theory.

I'm going on 45 and around 300 in iOS ranks. At some point in the past I gamed a bit but that is 20 years or so back. These days only occasionally.

I had thought more of the high ranked riders were younger though - personally I have noticed my reflexes are slower now and that isn't good for this kind of game

I kind of thought I was going to be on the older side on this poll, not that it's a bad thing either way. I would say I am surprised by all the "older" (and I say that with the utmost respect) players we have here, but when I think about it, it really makes sense. I believe the "gaming" generation is benefiting from years and years of reflex training. Hell, we are probably better at every day tasks such as driving a car as well, because of our ability to comprehend and react to something in times that are measured in the THOUSANDTH of a second! Good to see that our brains can still be this amazing in the later stages.

Also hinted at was the fact that a lot of us older folk played NES and such when we were kids, and I believe that has something to do with it too. If you could stand some of the games on those older systems and put in the time to master them, this stuff is right up your alley. The sample size on the forums is also going to be a factor, because I tend to think the older players are on here more than some of the younger ones, but that's just pure guessing. I know we had a few teens already respond and I'm sure many of them play, I just don't know how many are posting on the forums. It's a different lifestyle when you are that young!

I think the main reason we play this game though, when you really break it down, is because of SPEED. I don't care how young or old you are, who doesn't like going fast!? And this is all about doing it as fast as you can, and then going out and doing it EVEN FASTER! I time myself on a LOT of things just out of habit. Keeps things interesting.

Now we are getting the bell curve I was waiting for. But it's at least 5 years older than I would have thought; I had figured it would be dominated by those Xbox teenagers who played Trials HD and EVO and are no longer teens...but it's definitely older.

The extra age really shows on the forums; much more mature group of folks here, and a lot fewer pwnage and "in-your-face" comments. friendly competition.

trials frontier is the only game i play really. sometimes i turn on fusion but its rare. before that i played a bunch of evo and cod but thats its really. now that i have a mobile platform and am not restricted to a tv its hard not to play frontier.
